No, that's true. You have first hand experience. Fair enough.

Worst day of my life.

So. How's married life? We be movin' to Portland. It'll be hard not to root for them if they hire Big Pat.

Its a damn shame.

I actually remember when I first use to mourn the loss of players namely Jamal Crawford, David Lee and Nate Robinson, and I would get retort's of "We cheer for the name in front of the jersey and not the back." Now it's taboo to be a bandwagon fan. I'm still riding with the Knicks regardless.

You must suck as an attorney because your sitting here telling people not to judge you , yet you are judging whos a real fan and whos not .

Ive followed this team for 40 years and there comes a time when enough is enough .
This organization has been a JOKE damn near the last 20 years .
I can choose when to and when not to financially and or emotionally support this team .
So all you people who are whining about whos a fan and whos not can stfu and worry about yourself .
The poll isn't difficult , yes or no .

Yes. I must suck because I'm arguing my position. Which is what an attorney is supposed to do. I'm arguing that the NYK is deeper than a player. I'm arguing that it's ridiculous to jump ship over one guy.

But yes I suck.

You must because you still cant comprehend its NOT over one player , its over an ACCUMULATION of terrible management .
Maybe if enough people abandon this team they will get the message , as you can see by the poll results there alot of people who feel the same .
Im not arguing my point this is my closing statement .

Yet what good has your education done for the formation of your character? You're still pre-occupied with taunting people for their beliefs and saying juvenile things like I told you so. Education doesn't mask bad behavior, it illuminates its failings.

Give it a rest Clyde. You're doing exactly what you're accusing everyone else of doing. However, you mask it by putting it in a 10 paragraph post like you're some sort of scholar writing a thesis so it looks like you're the victim. When in reality its just a mask for you to call people who disagree with you idiots.

I've been very precise and concise. I don't care if you feel threatened by erudite posters. This is me, not a mask, like or not.

In summary, rednecks is a term applicable to those who are clannish and bigoted towards outsiders or those who don't vow loyalty to the same outlook as theirs. Some rednecks are uneducated, some have degrees, but they all share in common a trait you display in abundance: a burning desire to demean those who don't goosestep according to your definition of loyalty.

And for the record, I don't go after people by default like you do. I merely stand up against boorish jerks like you on principle. Yes, a large number of people on this board have shown themselves to be intolerant and abusive and that is very stupid regardless of their education.

It shouldn't be taboo to be a fan or not or whatever you want to be. Unfortunately, like some classic episode of the Twilight Zone you have many people who are hostile by nature and behave like a lynch mob. I don't see anybody telling those who don't have issues with being a Knicks fan for life no matter what that they are wrong. I don't see any abuse in their direction whatsoever, so I think you're safe.

It's been about 10 years in the making for me but Mrs. 'O was the instigator getting into grad school out there. Fingers crossed but I am closing in on a sweet gig out there. Very pumped, any way you slice it.

Good luck! IIRC, aren't you doing the deed in New Paltz or something like that (my olde stomping ground). As a five year vet, my very best advice on marriage is to get a pet rabbit. They really take the edge off :D Other than that, I got nothin'

Lin fans, or tired of Knicks f*cking things up?

Things to be tired of:

- 10+ years of not making the playoffs
- Marbury Fiasco
- Eddy Curry!!
- Trading away future draft picks
- Selling our soul just to come up empty in the Lebron chase
- trading away guys that have done more for the Knicks franchise that Lin or Melo have ever done (e.g. Camby, Mark Jackson, Anthony Mason, Charles Oakley, PATRICK EWING, etc...)
- series of big name coaching splashes that haven't amounted to anything
- trading away of just about every player we have drafted in the past 15 years (I mean we almost traded SHUMP for just 2 years of Nash!!)

So after all that we've dealth with as Knick fans, losing a player that had a 9 game stretch of excellent basketball in the REGULAR SEASON to free agency is the straw that breaks the camels back? Forget the fact that one of the most ridiculed contracts in Knick history (Allan Houston), happened because the Knicks didn't give the market a chance to "set the price". You're telling me there's not some Lin-mania involved? Please.

Agreed. It has been sickening to see how Lin fans have been labeled as "band wagoners" (one of our mods had it in his sig) and posters regularly attacked by the Dolan lynch mob. I don't want to be a part of this negativity and now hope that Lin isn't matched for his own sake and so I can make a break from this team and his board.

I may be fierce, but I always forgive and forget. I simply cannot consider myself a worthwhile contributor if I stand by and watch a wave of abuse on one group of the fan base go by without comment. I find this general acceptance of intolerance as reasonable to be the truly offensive thing and even if I tangled with on this principle, I do not assume you lack good qualities or may be otherwise reasonable at times. Tonight, I'm afraid, you were not.
