I dig it. Whatever happened to Oates????

I always wonder if older musicians still create new stuff even if it's not for public consumption. Like the itch to create has to be still there

The hate each other now. Oates sold his share of the song right behind Hall’s back in violation of their agreement.

Yeas it is. Oates put up a video explaining his position. It’s in the courts now. But the relationship unfortunately is over. What a shame.

New Deep Purple? Yes!

The lead singer, Ian Gillam, is the original singer for Deep Purple. He has one of the great voices in rock and roll. He also sang the the part of Jesus in the original soundtrack of Jesus Christ Superstar which my friends and I played, eh hem, religiously.

Check out this incredible rock vocal performance.

Two of my newer favorite guitarists - Guthrie Trapp and Tom “Uncle Larry” Bukovic - just recently released an album “In Stereo” which I love. The closest thing I can compare it to is Jeff Beck-ish. Incredible and tasteful guitar playing.

Great show! I didn’t watch every episode but my two favorites were The O’Jays and Todd Rundgren. The Rundgren episode was filed at Todd’s home in Hawaii. Todd and Daryl both grew up just outside of Philadelphia.

I know we have a few musicians on here. Any of you guys have simple recording equipment? I have songs pop in and out of my head frequently and I am tired of recording things on my phone or just letting them slip into the ether without being recorded at all.

Love that show.

I was just on the stage crew for Todd Rundgren a few months ago. Really great show. I did 10CC Uriah Heep and Saxon this year too. The last two were boozing it up backstage. Fun times. I would have done Grand Funk Railroad too but, it was three days after my ear surgery so, no go. I was pissed when I found out! They were my old lady's favorite band.

I wish. I just started doing the gig a couple of years ago and it's very PT. I am the extra. I've only done the few shows mentioned plus Carl Palmer and some dude named Brian Culbertson or something like that. It's fun and pretty cool meeting the old heads but, it's very tame compared to when those guys were in their prime.

I played guitar with the guy who was a working rock musician. He spent about 6-7 years in Doug Sahm's Sir Douglas Quintet/Texas Tornados as his pedal steel player and 2nd guitarist. This is when Doug's band was situated in Austin, TX. Harry had the best rock stories ... a coked-out Chubby Checkers at a show that didn't end well was one. lol
