Yep. He will face off against another draftable player in Amida Brimah. Should be another good test for him.

Not for nothing but Okafor should dominate Brimah. Brimah is as intriguing as they come, but Okafor can get him in easy foul trouble. Okafor should bully Brimah down low, especially if Jones/Okafor are running that pick and roll.

Brimah is interesting though, I would like to think his length should give Okafor fits but usually the case goes to the more fundamental guy. Couple of head fakes and Okafor can have Brimah jumping. Not to mention UCONN is just not that good right now. Kudos to Brimah though, he's coming off a great game for himself.

As of right now, I think I might be all in on Mudiay. I think I would take him 1-1 and I would be absolutely ecstatic if we landed him.

Best shot blocker in CBB Robert Upshaw nearly 7-1 265 with a 7-5 wingspan and a 37 inch vertical. He's the best NBA type rim protector I have seen yet. Hes huge yet quite athletic with good timing. I have the National CBB package-- I can view a lot of games. Washington has a really good PG Named Nigel Goss but this guy is an NBA player too. I think I have found two NBA big men this year Zach Auguste an under rated athletic PF who has a LOT of size for the position at 6-10 245 and athletic and this guy. Both guys are not covered by any draft sites but should be.

Robert Upshaw 7- 265 C

My huskies the blue devils tonight!! Pumped to see how Amida Brimah will do aginst Okafor. I hope stays out of foul trouble and I hope the guards create easy buckets for him. Okafor should be a ton for him to handle though. Will def be interesting to see these guys go at it. Also interested in seeing Dham vs. Winslow and Boatright on the freshman Tyus. I hope UConn can step up the defense for a change this season.

Not covered by any draft sites but if you explore the draft forums here you will find many guys not mentioned on draft sites yet. Every year multiple guys are being talked about at the start of the season here and eventually make it on to the draft sites.

I have seen Upshaw play once and he stood out to me as well. I wanted to watch him again buth havent had the chance. There defense was noticeably better with him on the court. When a game is archived on espn I will watch him more closely. Most of these guys though dont slide through the cracks. They make it to the draft sites eventually.

Every year there are a bunch of posts about some pogo like 6'9" to 7" center who is athletic and blocks a bunch of shots.

And 90% of them bust.

I know nothing about either of the guys BRIGGS posted, but he's well known to be obsessed with bigs.

Has Upshaw done ANYTHING against any GOOD teams? Easy pass for me. As for Auguste, he's turning 23 his first year in the NBA...

Is the plan trading down or somehow trading for another 1st round pick (regarding these "unknown" bigs)?

It's good to find players who could be lower seeded draft prospects. We didnt have two high 2 's last year and bang. These are two athletic players for positions of need 7-1 260 pd C and 6-10 245 PF--we have a LOT of holes.

For us to jump out of holes--we must be able to do what better teams do---execute in the draft.

100%. Love looking at the overlooked guys. Upshaw has done nothing against good teams and hasn't even done much against mediocre/bad teams, though. Auguste has torn **** up so far though and I'll definitely be keeping an eye out on him once conference play starts. I'm hoping we find a way to get a late first and/or a couple of seconds.

One guy (not an unknown obviously since he's on the DX mock as a lotto type) that looks pretty intriguing is that Caris Levert guy from Tim Hardaway's old alma mater. Saw him play the other day and, wow, must say he's got some serious NBA potential. Super extra long arms, bit hands, superb athleticism, handles the ball, very quick 1st step, boards, passes, shoots real well from 3 and pretty much does everything. One of the announcers mentioned Scottie Pippen like (though they obviously caveated that statement quite a bit). He's got to get a lot stronger but otherwise, pretty darn impressed. To me, he looks kinda like a longer and, if he fills out, bigger (SF) version of Jamal Crawford. He even looks like a young Crawford out there (for folks that remember or saw Crawford when he was in college), just longer limbed and taller.

I like Levert a lot. Well rounded offensive game. Few times I've watched him, it looked like his handle was not as tight as it could be (dribbling high, away from body, etc). I'd take him over THJR right now, actually.

Stanley Johnson put him on lock down that last game. I really like Stanley's game. Could be a Kawhi Leonard type player.

Johnson is an elite defender though. Levert is also the only NBA guy on that team basically. Really easy to hone in on him with good team defense, which Arizona has. Johnson is a straight stud though.

If we don't get a top 3 pick he would be someone I would consider with 4 or 5 whichever we get.

I was talking about signing Jimmy Butler as a RFA also and I had thoughts of our wing players being Butler and Johnson and locking up absolutely everyone on the perimeter.
