we really weren't, jeff was trying to coach for the coaching career. He was trying to win.

Plus we spent $70-$80mil on Tim Hardaway. Another reason that was such a bad signing. They were trying for a fast turnaround

Smart move. They're hoping to find a Nets trade.

especially if they are the only team on the market currently doing this they can ask for crazy prices to move small amounts of money. Smart to make that known this early.

We should be doing that instead of chasing dreams. It would make it much easier to move guys like Lee and Kanter. Maybe pickup some small assets, open up playing time and it could help the tank.

the knicks won't commit to that kind of rebuild with kp here. fiz said so yesterday. he said we didn't need to go the philly route because of kp.

Yeah, we wouldn't have stretched Noah either if that was our plan so I am not expecting it. I am expecting us to try to make some splashes in the offseason....if not a signing, then some trades (ex Wall).

i mean... KP is currently doing his part by embiiding/simmonsing. :dontknow: that was a major component of "the process." injury redshirt seasons.

 oh, mase.

frank has a permanent deer-in-headlights look. even when he's doing something right. it's a whole weakness kind of vibe that is alarming.

i have been waiting for a moment like when he had that breakaway slam off the steal in strasbourg and pointed to his wrist to the crowd. i truly believe energy like that is what's most missing. he developed to a point at a child in a man's league. he had a mature confidence. now it doesn't look like he even has that.

Barely. And the floor isn't even spread that well. Most of the screens and the half assed rolls just seem to bring the defender along to the ball handler. Like the screen isn't started far away enough from the hoop.

In any event, it seems like a basic, sort of crappy system and there's zero secondary stuff (or verrry little) after the initial action.
Because we don't have good shooters, roll men or ballhandlers. The Raptors run damn near the same stuff. They have Lowry, Kawhi, Green, Ibaka and Valanciunas we have Hardaway and the Bad News Bears.

So, wouldn't a decent coach adjust somewhat to the personnel?

Even Jefe ran a spread offense last year that involved Frank and Beasley, KOQ, etc, and the other guards and those guys, and while it wasn't great, it was a decent offense, or aspects of it

Not so much that Fiz's system is terrible, but it could use a few tweaks, you'd think, for the players on hand.

Hopefully they can be patient, but I think its inevitable we do something dumb. They seem sold on taking advantage of KPs lower cap hold even if it means screwing us for the next 3-4 years.

K-DOT disagrees. He thinks thanks to KP’s torrid 10 game start to the season is the reason why we weren’t going to be bad enough to tank for Doncic, but it’s why I made the sig that I have. Should’ve never signed Burke and that was all Perry.

your sig is wrong though. it wasn't 1 game. we won 2 of the last 5 and and 5 of the last 15 after they started him. before that we were something like 1-20.

Lol I know I just stopped updating because you know...whocares? Lol.

Miss out on Westbrook draft Gallo
Miss out on Curry draft Hill
Miss out on Fox draft Ntilikina
Miss out on Doncic draft Knox

But hey - lets go for some wins! Nothing like developing Trey **** Burke and Emmanuelle Mudiay! While we are at it lets continue to evaluate Mario **** Hezonja.

The fact that we are pouring big minutes into these contract year players is such a joke. Guys like Knox, Mitch, Dotson, Trier and Frank should be playing as MANY minutes as possible. Let them go through the trials and tribulations of an 82 game season. Let them sink, swim, get back up and sink some more. Let them foul out, have great shooting nights and poor ones.

This whole group that is telling themselves that Fizdale is "getting through" to some of these reclamation projects is hilarious to me.

But like I said - keep the meaningless wins coming and the 2-3 game win streaks on deck!

Funny thing is when the team looks top 3 bad everyone freaks out, wants to trade everyone and fire the coach. This board can't have it both ways. The team either looks really really bad or looks mediocre and picks 8-10. Right now they are bottom 5 in net rating which will probably drop when the Bulls get healthy again. As long as KP doesn't come back they are on track for a top 5 pick.
