This could all be part of a deal with Minny with the rumors again this morning of them not feeling good about #1

I've solidified myself on the Okoro/Terry train. If they believe the jumper isn't broken and it was a video joking around I wouldn't be mad with Vassell.

Any combo of Okoro/Vassell and Terry/Flynn/Bane/Joe would be a really solid first round in my opinion. If they go PG early something like Hayes/Lewis/Haliburton and Bane/Woodard/Ramsey/Bey (S or T) would be solid

It's a good deal for both teams. Knicks improve their chance of landing their target with the 2nd pick and now can just focus on 2 rookies instead of 3 and can look at undrafted guys for 2 way deals instead of using a 2nd round pick. Jazz might have a target in mind with 27 who is projected to go 2nd round anyway so it's worth it for them plus they get another pick in the 2nd round.

Probably just to assure themselves that they were in a position to grab one of the guys on their draft board they really liked. And at #27, they probably felt those guys would be gone.

But yes, they could also move that pick in a future package. This draft has shaped itself to be pretty deep, but the talent level is still pretty good for someone in the late teens, early twenties.

To me this draft seems very flat and I don't see much of a difference between the 20s and 30s... That's the reason I like it for the Jazz. We pretty much secured another bite at the apple(pun semi-intentional).

Perhaps. But someone like a Tyrell Terry probably won't be there at 27, but he could be there at 23. And the Knicks really do need shooters and playmakers.

Agreed.

But I'll repeat what I've said other times, but obviously you are a visitor. Drafts can also be flat from even 6-20.
There's a benefit of being higher up for better shot at a tranche of players.
This obviously implies the FO and scouts have their act together and are actually targeting the better player.
Which doesn't always happen.

I hope those pick swaps are part of a bigger trade where we get Conley and the Jazz get Randle

Would still like to see the Knicks grab a Philly 2nd rounder or 1st rounder for cap relief or one of Boston's picks.

They could trade up and still have 3 picks

i think its a fine deal but considering no one knows where anyone would go it is a bit odd to make this deal unless you think its extra ammo for the knicks to potentially move up?

I mean... I love targeting specific players but not so sure about a draft range(especially when the range is so close to the one you already had). That's why I think it's weird this trade happened now, rather than during the draft when you would actually know for sure whether the guy(s) you target are there.

This is the definitely the draft you want to be in the early 20's instead of the late 20's. With teams not able to scout players there is a better chance that a talent that was going to be a lotto talent slips there. We really don't need anymore 2nd round picks to waste away in the G-League. Iggy is barely getting any burn as it is.

And I would not be mad if they package those picks for Lamelo
