The Warriors could end up with 2 lottery picks this season, with Wiseman to throw in as well, if any star of Beal's caliber is up for trade they're getting dibs.

Congrats to the stinkin Hawks... let's go Nets I guess? I don't know what was up with the Garden crowd tonight not being into it from the start. Not the same electric vibe I got like in game 2. Honestly I don't think I can watch another basketball game the rest of this postseason.

I'm going to contradict myself but you're right. Thibs caved to the pressure from the media and the FaNs to remove Payton from the starting lineup. The same starting lineup we basically had all season, and were successful.

All the posters on this board who were clamoring for a change from Payton, well, you got it.

Such a stupid move. Stick with what got you here. People going insane trying to throw out STUPID stats and analytics claiming how GREAT the Knicks would be if they just stopped starting Payton. We all saw how much that was stopping us from being successful. IT WASNT. So Thibs get's an F- for listening to the media/fans.

Other than that, though, Thibs doesn't play on the court. If your two best players suck up the joint, there's not much you can do as a coach. But I'm sure this PG is gonna be filled with people blaming Thibs.

Problem wasn’t Thibs. It was Payton, not buying in and playing so poorly that Thibs had no choice to make an adjustments. If Payton could have played to just below average with hard defense we could have managed his minutes. But he completely gave up on the team.

Thibs started Rose and played the whole 2nd half in game 2. That’s the only reason we won. He played the most minutes of any of our players this series over Randle. The obvious answer was to put in Frank, but you know Thibs wouldn’t do that. It is what it is

I'm on record saying we should have started Frank. Taking Rose out of the 2nd group literally killed us (besides our franchise player).

That being said, didnt we win 9 in a row with Payton starting?? And it's not about Payton, it's about continuity. Payton sucks.

Payton started playing worse and worse heading into the playoffs. Game 2 was the last straw. If Payton was trying Thibs wouldn’t of took him out. Thibs had to cause we were getting blown out in first quarters

As the Hawks get swept by Philly next round..lmao

Ehhh this Hawks team is solid.. and without Embiid.. the Hawks might damn well make the ECF

How was your trip to ATL

It was cool other than the game lol.. even tho that was a fun experience too. Never thought I’d ever be at a playoff Knicks playoff game considering the price to go to one in NY is astronomical. Did some drinking before during and after the game so that helped.. Atlanta is a cool city tho overall. Got to visit some fam and my good friend while there

we are, this team is 100% going to the playoffs next year or at the very least the play in game. no way in hell are they tanking. 0% chance. you know that right? literally 0%

If Rose leaves we're in the top 10 of the draft.

Trading for Rose just show's how shortsighted our front office is. This draft potentially has 5 stars (minimum) in it, and we decide to make a trade so MAYBE we could get past the first round of the playoffs. Such as typical Knicks front office move. We'll miss out on these players, then see them start to bloom as stars in the league... but at least we got completely embarrassed in the first round of the playoffs. It was so great to get that playoff experience!! We can build off of this!! Yeah, okay. As Minnesota adds to their deep talent pool with Ant, and maybe Cade or Suggs, we were happy to get into the first round of the playoffs. Typical Knicks.

5 stars? Lol

Obviously you know nothing about this upcoming draft.

Lol come back to me when any draft has five stars (1985 maybe? 1996? lol)

it's actually silly to think we know exactly how many stars are in this draft. you know at least one of those dudes is going to be a bust if not more than one and that's who the knicks would have got. meanwhile there will be some steals later in the draft like there always is in every draft.

Did you see the word 'potentially' in there? And yes, all experts agree (and people with college bball knowledge on here) that this is one of the better drafts in a long time.

Although I do agree that there is ALWAYS a potential for busts. But, we're only talking about the top 5. In my opinion, there are several more players in the draft that have a chance to be really, really good. We'll see what happens. Either way it was a mistake to trade for Rose. Not sure how anyone could argue against that at this point. I'm not saying you are, robil

In my opinion, even if we did not trade for rose, we would have been a borderline playoff team, probably in the 9-10 range in the play-in game or the 10th pick at best. We wouldn't have been the worst team in the NBA which is the only way to guarantee the top 5 pick and I don't think we win the lottery obviously. Toronto has the 7th pick and they were 18 games under .500, would be tough to envision losing that much even without Rose. So then we don't get a playoff appearance and probably draft another bust anyway. There are too many vets on the team to lose as many games as necessary to properly tank and Randle played at an all-star level. The idea that we could have tanked just seems unrealistic to me with this personnel.

I just can't believe how Thibs - with the Knicks in desperate need of points in the 3rd - stayed big with Taj at the 5 when Capela was off the floor.

Not saying that makes him a bad coach, but that's just bad coaching, sorry.

I said it in another thread...the talent we have significantly overachieved in a covid year...this team will be in the lottery next season. This roster is still a complete abortion. There are like 2 potential starters on the roster, maybe 3 on a really good team and a bunch of role players like Q and Topin.
