I want everybody to sleep on me with the Power Rankings. Let me do the work for you:

• Lillard is cooked and will have a bad rating due to his injuries and bad stats last year

• Klay is closer to retirement and is cooked as well. Terrible efficiency

• Miles will be in jail and likely unavailable in the SIM. Cancel him!!!

• Based on last season’s stats Trey Murphy III is gonna get pretty meh SIM ratings

• Based on last season’s stats Bol Bol is gonna get pretty meh SIM ratings

• Based on last season’s stats Nick Richards is gonna get pretty meh SIM ratings

• Brogdon’s bad 3pt shooting last season and low volumes this early season equates to a SIM rating drop

• Christian Wood can’t defend and Jason Kidd won’t give him enough mins in IRL Dallas to justify any kind of SIM bump

• Jeff Green is old and boring. Retire already!

• Joe Ingles is old and tore his ACL. He’s casseroled!

All kidding aside, I don't think the sim takes early season into account at all. I've never seen more than slight tweaks from the beta ratings bish releases to the final releases and even those seem unrelated to early season but more to algorithm adjustments/bug fixes. Hell, last season on the beta release Demar Derozan was 4 stars. He started out the season red hot and many posted top 5 MVP lists in the early going. Final sim release 3.5 stars. Great start was obviously not even looked at.

Now, I do think Dame's rating will stay high. Except for Dinwiddie and Warren last year, the sim doesn't seem to penalize guys for small sample sizes. I think Brogdon and Wood also keep there 3.5 star ratings.

Bridges is a question mark. Obviously he won't be in jail now that he has settled his case. Whether a team is ready to give him a second chance this soon and take the PR blowback is another question. He will be signed at some point and then start an NBA imposed suspension. The question is when. That said, we don't care about NBA. Given his circumstances I figured he was left out of the game. However since he has settled his case before the final release, maybe they get him back in the game. I think this is crucial. In any case, it was a worthwhile gamble and when he does get back in the sim, even if it's not this year, it is likely his 3.5 or so sim rating is waiting for him. Also, as I stated in my power rankings, I'm sure if he is not included the game, you will manage to find some way to use that EL contract to your advantage.



As for Bol Bol, Trey, and Nick (who I signed as an undrafted free agent even before Charlotte drafted him. I love him and wish Charlotte figured it out early so he'd still be on my roster), I do think they will be rated off last year's stats so don't expect much this year but look for very healthy sim bumps next season.

On the flip side of the above, I don't think Klay's rough start to this season affects him at all. I think he is still an upper 3, lower 3.5 type guy and wouldn't be shocked by either rating.

Of course, this is all one man's opinions and you could be right and I could be totally wrong. I also prefaced my power rankings with "Let's give 2010 some billboard material to fire him up!" We all know that you function best when you battling those who dissed you

Now if Miles is in the sim, total different ballgame. You are right back fighting for home court in the first round of the playoffs.

Lots of ifs and variables. I def took some gambles, which is why I kept posting that The Weeknd Las Vegas gif rolling the dice. Who knows which parameters the SIM developers use or if they include the early returns for this year when factoring in young players coming off tiny sample sizes the previous year like Bol, Richards, and to a lesser extent, Murphy. Which is why at the end of the day, I just build a team I like and hope for the best with ratings.

The Golden State Warriors have been contacted by multiple teams concerning 24 year old SG Gary Trent Jr, who is in a contract year. The Warriors would love to re-sign Trent, and with CP3's deal set to expire, they'll surely have the space to do so. Trent is widely expected to be rated 3.0 in sim and is coming off a season average of 18 ppg.

We're hearing that veteran forward Jae Crowder thought he'd be wearing a Warriors jersey going into the season. 21 year old Stretch four Zeke Nnaji was a part of that deal which fell apart due to the Warriors being over the cap. Nnaji has received some interest since. He is making $13/1 and though the Warriors love his upside, they are open to possibilities if it makes sense. GM NewEra we've heard is in no rush.

Kyle Anderson is a name that has been circulating in trade talks. There has been an offer to acquire his $105/5 deal which would place the Warriors under the cap. However, it doesn't look like a deal will be made until January. Anderson has historically played really well in the SIM. If his sim success continues, expect more teams to inquire about the 29 year old swiss army knife.

Warriors are expected to work out veteran forward Andrae Iguodala to replace exempt list candidate Jeremy Lamb. Iggy is a great locker room guy who could possibly provide some additional leadership.

We had a chance to catch up with NewEra. He had this to say. "We've never gone into a season with the league's scoring champ (Embiid) and leader in assists (Chris Paul) on the same team. We've surrounded them with some complimentary pieces, but we've got work to do. I'm always open to discussions. I think we've been blessed to build some great relationships with our fellow GMs over the years so I don't expect that to change. Be it incoming or outgoing, PMs are always buzzing."

Have to give thanks to the guys who took both Duren and Mark Williams ahead of me though, cause I would have taken one of them for positional need ahead of Sharpe despite neither being in my top 10 on my big board. I'm not gonna pretend like this was my plan the whole time, sometimes genius happens on accident.
