Goddamn. I might have cried over that. That's insane.

Man I feel like the Dodgers are kicking our asses right now.

At least the Mets owner and POBO flew all the way over to Japan to meet with Mr. Moto and his family. We showed proper respect.

Acts of desperation are a sign of disrespect. Rookie mistake. Better luck next time. Take your billions and wipe your tears!

You obviously have no understanding about Asian culture. You probably eat their food with a fork.

This is the one thing that scares me about visiting Japan, because i can't eat with chopsticks to save my life. Imagine getting some genuine ramen and asking for a fork? The look of shame that I'd get would end me

They would all point at you and mock you in their native tongue. (Ever see the Seinfeld episode? Maybe before your time.)

I still have a tough time eating rice with them.

I dunno how anyone eats rice with chopsticks. I feel so uncoordinated. It's shameful.

The Dodgers are doing what Mets fans thought Cohen was going to do this off-season.

Yeah they really are. But sometimes you can't control it. Even if Mets offered the same money or even a bit more, wouldn't you rather live in LA and not even have to move you or your family from Cali if you already lived there?

It just unfortunately makes it so much easier for the Dodgers to be able to grab Ohtani. Dodgers also have the advantage with Yamamoto over Mets/Yankees because if they're willing to spend, Cali is a lot closer to Japan travel wise than NY is.

Yep. They've got the logistical advantage over us that money can't buy.

Ohtani's preferred the West coast since he came to MLB, so I know there was no chance he was coming to New York. I remember reading the trip back to Japan is a big factor in it.

I just like to make fun of Mets fans any chance I get.

I have no problem not signing Ohtani. I'm going to be more disappointed if the Mets don't sign Mr. Moto. And that's looking more probable with each passing day. This is why I'd like the Mets to sign Shōta Imanaga regardless of what happens with Moto. Imanaga can slide in nicely into the 2-3 slots in the rotation. He could be a very underrated addition to a starting lineup.
