For as much as I think we're too banged up to truly compete, I would rather be us than the Pacers this year, genuinely I do not have any faith in them as a playoff team
But the longer this drags on, the worse it is for us, so gotta win the next one, even though I can't see us losing at home (more I can't see the Pacers winning on the road), I don't want to go to 7 against this team.
I am really hoping with the extra day we ambush the pacers like we did the sixers game 6 on the road...I have faith in this team winning at home regardless but it will be a really short turn around and we saw the impact that it had on our legs in game 4.
Friday night game potentially at 8pm if we don't win then its Sunday at 3:30...not ideal.
This is the first time we had a 2 day rest in between games this series so I hoping we can finish them off in game 6 on the road and avoid that quick turnaround game 7.
Pacers are due for a home loss too. We're ending this Friday!

With that said, I know he will show it!
Brunson will have to show the consistency first?
I guess 4 straight 40 point games in the playoffs and 5 games of over 40ppg average in these playoffs isn't consistent enough for some people. Averaging 32ppg for the entire playoffs this year is pretty consistent but I guess my idea of consistent is easy to satisfy.
If you mean consistent enough from year to year then I'd suggest go looking at his last 3 playoff appearances, two with the Knicks and the last with Dallas and tell me if that is inconsistent.
He doesn't need to be historic every year but he's been consistently an impact playoff performer.
I don't mean to make it seem like you said anything really that wrong but I did kind of think it.
As a Knick...He's going to be the greatest Knick IMO when its all said and done but its too early to official crown him Stu...
I think he's just talking about the playoff scoring, which he can do it within reason barring any catastrophic happening, not in legendary stature, which would take him helping the Knicks to a title to reach the levels of the players from the chip teams.

Shams is reporting that the Knicks are prepping to offer Thibs an extension. Looks like it will start at around 10 million a year.

We can only give him around 16. Early Bird.
I'm very skeptical that there is another team that is going to offer him significantly more than what we will. The general NBA doesn't value the C position like we do.
I don't put it past a rival GM but I didn't realize the team was capped on what they can offer him. Crap hopefully he does the Knicks a solid for more guaranteed years?

Yeah, it's too bad. That was my reservation on getting him on a 2-year instead of a 3-year but he may not have been willing to agree to a 3-year. His current contract is VERY favorable.

Another great writeup. I'm glad you saw fit to give Brun a 5/5 - I was worried that 40 points is now seen as the "average" game for him. We can't forget that he was "never" going to be able to score a lot in the playoffs like in the regular season. This is really awesome, given all the other things he did to keep us scoring and defending.
I disagree with you about Divo only in that I thought he accomplished something more important than scoring -- he seriously stood up to a make believe tough guy and, I think, made an indelible impression that will last for the series.
Also want to join the chorus praising Thibs for making the changes many on this board were calling for in the starting lineup. It worked well, and I don't see Indy as having a good answer for this.
All in all, this was our first huge, blowout win and one that I feel is representative of our team's play. It was a magical night -- I mean, how TF else could Burks be doing so well?

Got you bro...Just to be clear because I want to make sure you know this...I havent watch Knick games before last december since MItch's draft year. This year is my first year watching Brunson...In december when I started watching again and I figured out that he
was Rick's son...I proclaimed him the choosen one. Brunson will go down as the greatest Knick in the end and he will bring us our first chip in 50+ years. I also believe he will continue to get better -year after year. He was around Ewing, Sprewell, Houston, guys in Chicago, etc when he could barely walk. The phrase "built for this" is was Brunson embodies...
Best of all Stu- we got him!

I did an anti-jinx against the Sixers game 6, it worked, did it for game 5 now, and it worked.

Gotta balance out all the overconfident Knicks fans that kept saying Knicks in 4, then 5, then 6, etc lol who are jinxing the hell out of us.
