If he actually cared about the survival of Israel I'd think he'd be more civilized, but at this point the mindset of the hawks inside Likud may actually think the only way to survive is all-out aggression on multiple fronts. Netanyahu himself has created a perpetual state of emergency and in a state of siege the people usually don't replace their warlord even if he is way out of line. That's his game now, constant offense and stacking Likud with like-minded hawks in order to stay at the helm.

Like Trump, Netanyahu seeks to stay in power to avoid his prosecution as a civilian. They are birds of a feather now, criminals and authoritarians that need power to avoid incarceration.

So while I don't get voting for Trump in this regard, I do understand not voting. As I have said, it's like the trolley problem. If you do nothing, lots more people die, but if you do something, you have directly contributed to the deaths of several people, just fewer than would have died had you done nothing. And it gets murkier still when it's your friends and family in the crossfire. A lot of people can't and really shouldn't just reduce it to simple mathematics

I have the privilege to be removed from the situation, so it's easier for me to do harm reduction, but I understand someone who's unable to choose a lesser evil when it's them who are f*cked either way.
