Only one living person at a time in his family knows it, and when they are dying, they only tell it to one other member to carry it on. He does not know the answer, and he bet me that I can't figure it out before he does. He said I can ask anyone in the world that I want for help, so I figured I will take to the bright minds on this board.

The riddle is:

A man had a dollar. He spent 80 cents for a drum and 10 cents for 2 drumsticks. He gave a streetcar driver a dime to drive him 13 blocks. On the tenth block they kicked him out. Why?

Hint: I tell you the answer every time I say the riddle.

Good luck guys. I look forward to your answers.

The bolded is the answer.

The man was kicked out then asks why?

He was never told why he was kicked out, see bolded: he doesn't know the answer.

I tell you the "answer" every time I say the riddle.

The first part about it being passed down is part of the riddle.

You're welcome.

It's not part of the riddle but he says it every time he says/tells the riddle.

I think you got it. Deuces GOYNK.

He got kicked off because of the riddle. Aka playboi was asking it to all staff/passengers and it drove them crazy just like it's driving all of you crazy. Gave him the boot out of frustration by the tenth block.
Cheers.

Edit: that's why the hint is specifically worded, "I tell you the answer when I say the riddle" rather then something like, "the answer is in the riddle". He was kicked off because of the riddle.

That cant be the answer....That's just GONYK opening to the riddle. He is saying his friend does not know the answer. Hes saying his friend does not know the answer and bet him he cant figure it out. After that, he opens up with... "the riddle is" so.. before he says.. "the riddle is" cant be the answer.

Because food isn’t allowed on the bus, he brought fried drumsticks not musical instrument drum sticks?
