[quote="Village Idiot"]How about Mo Williams for Iman Shumpert and Beno Udrih as the basis for a trade?

Williams is better than Felton and with Hardaway emergent Shumpert isn't needed.[/quote

Really ? Is this a serious suggestion :o

You pretty much have to make Shumpert available for a PG now. Felton is unacceptable. I'm sure the Knicks would be dying to have Lin at this point -- $15M next season but expiring in time and a real PG.

Well maybe they'd do it, just to get out of those two big payments. Seems lopsided though. Then again, these guys are both expiring next season.

What do people think?

If
Melo is staying and agrees
Dolan agrees

Asik/Melo/Brewer/Lin/Felton
kmart/JR/Timmy

not a bad way to go that doesn't kill 2015.

But Daffy says Dolan's feelings are still hurt and Houston would want more.
Could you imagine handing over Timmy Jr. and a pick for an asset that we gave away for nothing?

But Dolan could justify it because he's saving luxury tax this way. If we had matched Lin, there'd be a much bigger luxury tax hit than if we trade for him now.

Since Dolan can justify anything, anything including and after your first 29 characters is a true statement.

I don't see any way you move Felton without a pick or two involved. Even then $4M is not nothing. You can possibly buy a pick more cheaply. Felton will be on this roster in 2015 I believe.

Wroten and tim hardaway JR. are too good, young, and cheap to trade for either team.
we shouldn't give up draft picks b/c if they actually trade Thad, it's not b/c they don't want him, it's his contract so we'll be doing them a favor w/Bargs contract.

otherwise I would do it.

can't make any trades until carmelo tells them he's going to re-sign or leave in free agency.

no doubt man. and obviously, a trade with philly probably wont even happen. but i really like a package if Allen/Wroten/Young

Wroten is a PG capable of producing now as well as betting better. Allen is a bonafide rotation bigman. Young is Josh Smith2.0 only he has his head on better. not a fan of trading picks or thj, but itd definitely be worth it for a package like this. philly can also stay young with murry tyler thj and they get the better deal in terms of contracts. i just feel like we need some more athleticsm and a change of scenery for melo. melo would benefit from thad young. and also since woody is a fan of defense this would also be solid. again, not gonna happen because dolan is.....dolan but id definitely go after young/wroten/allen package, we have the assets. philly could be really nice with wiggins/mcw/noel/thj/tyler, so young

That team may be worst defensively than we are now... which is hard to be
