I wonder what David Lee would look like on this team.

Right now, obviously he'd look better.

David Lee would look amazing right now. The knicks can definitely use his all around hustle and rebounding. It seemed like the nets had a bunch of 2nd chance opportunities last night .

Or just standing, since his tallness doesn't do anything.

i put this in another thread:

Amares season excuses as per apologists

1. He hasn't played all summer
2. Chandler is taking his space
3. He doesn't have a pg that can run the pnr
4. he is rusty from missing games because of his ankle
5. his mind is on the loss of his brother

perhaps he just doesn't have it...he looks finished. time and time again i say it...people dont want to believe it.

its not a 10 or 20 game thing...its probably close to 40+ games now...no lift, getting blocked and ice skating on defense.

*with the exception of game 1 vs the Cs.

As an outside observer, it seems that a great way for pringles to fix the lineup would be to start amare off the bench, or at least if needed for ego purposes sub one of him or Melo out early. A lineup of

C Chandler
F Melo
F Fields
G Shumpert
G Lin

6th Amare

This would be a fantastic lineup defensively and Melo can set up in the low post and take advantage of the big guys with this quickness. At least this is the type of lineup I can see being very successful with a couple creators, defensive first guys and scoring. Sub in Jeffries with amare and JR smith when offense is stagnant - this should be more balanced and help the Knicks with their problems

It seems the floor spacing last night was very akward and only fields and Chandler playing D. Need at least one defensive guy in their instead of amare or Melo

Would never, ever, ever, ever happen.

Dolan would kill himself, the causal knicks fans & the media would have a field day & most importantly Amar'e ego wouldn't allow it.

How pathetic would that be? lol. We sign a guy to a 100 million dollar contract, label him as the face of the franchise & the savior then the next year we bring him off the bench *dead*

It's not that I disagree with your post because I 1000000000000000000% agree with everything you said, everything....it's just that, that would never happen

His game is being fully exposed, he looks nothing like he did last year, he looks worse than he did last year defensively & he claims that he feels better than last year.

Trade him or bench him.

Just want to point out that he didn't play any basketball all summer and focused solely on getting bigger (which is stupid in itself)...so obviously it was going to take time for him to get back to where he was last year. Couple that with the really short preseason/training camp and having no time to rest in between games, and Amar'e was behind the 8 ball from the beginning.

Before his brother passed we saw Amar'e getting back to where he was last year. He was attacking more and was hitting more jumpers than he was earlier in the year. His brother's passing is definitely weighing on him...it's probably going to take a few games for him to find his groove again.

Now, with that being said, I'm always up for trading players to improve the team -- doesn't matter who the player is (adopted this after the trade deadline last year).

You've been a mod here...you know how it is. People sing prayers when players play well and damn them when they don't. Sad, and makes them out to be somewhat bi-polar, but whatever.

And I agree with that but looking at this season clearly shows none of that matters lol.

He should know & I'm sure you know how the NY culture is. If you don't play well & we lose games the jury starts to come out on you. With Amar'e's play this season it's very justifiable that the jury should be out on him. Maybe if he actually hit shots consistently & drove to the lane like he used to, I would ease up but when you can't even do that & you're being relegated to a SF jump shooter?

Now that's pitiful.
