And under no circumstance, we should take Anderson
Dantares wrote:i dont think anderson is that unmoveable but even if we do get get him we can use the stretch provision to get rid of him or noah. Next year is the last summer before KP gets his super max deal. it might even be more than the first time max for 4 year players if KP makes an all-nba team. we need to strike hard in free agency next year.

in 2 years KP will still have a smaller cap hold. So in 2 years is the year where we really need to strike FA hard. We can suck for 1 more year and get hopefully a top 5 pick next year. Then improve greatly in the 2018-2019 season and sign good FA's.

gordon is the exact prototype of player we used t trade for...he WILL get injured and WE will be furiousdrekwins wrote:Ryan Anderson literally makes zero sense. The whole point of trading Melo wasn't just to trade him. We were hoping to get back something for him while improving our cap situation. Ryan Anderson is 29 and on the books for a year longer. Unless they are willing to add Gordon and scrubs for Noah, I'm not even listening to Anderson.
The following deal works in the Trade Checker:
Melo
Noah
For
Anderson
Gordon
Kelly
Long
Quarterman
Taylor
Even this, I'm not so sure of. So, if they're not even willing to do this, they can F off.

Dantares wrote:wow melo might get a ring next year. Melo shoots like 45% on wide open 3-pointers the last few years, he's going to take advantage of all the double teams harden and cp3 draw.

wait summer of 2019 kp gets his supermax right? so than that means 2018 is the year we have to strike.

No, there's different levels of max's. Going into free agency, he will only have a cap hold of about 13 million. We can sign other free agents based off that 13 million number and then sign him last. This is what SA did with Kawhi to get LMA. Kawhi was the last to sign. Also, the supermax does not apply to him. Players with 0-6 years of experience are eligible for 25% of the salary cap number. Assuming a cap of 105M, that would put him at 26,250,000. However, the only relevant number at this time is his cap hold.

Olympic Melo would be unleashed onto the league and the Knicks will be in the media again with another "one manes trash is another mans treasure" bullsh*t.
