I guess when al horford is making 25 mil a year at age 37, the julius randle contract doesn't look so bad in its last year. he can probably be moved if need be by that 3rd year.

if does if they keep paying meh role players who will just take time away from our young developing players...like if reggie bullock takes minutes from dotson/frank/rj/knox or the combo of that I will not be pleased.

We did need big forwards, that's the only part I agree with them on. I would have ran Knox at the four though, just to keep his minutes up. Now you basically stuck your own draft pick on the bench. Utter silliness.

Knox will be a bust if you make him a 3 and we just spent 30 million on 2 4’s. Y’all don’t realize how clueless this FO is.

Utah needs to move Favors.
Miami needs to clear cap.
Clippers might need to move Gallinari.
Wolves probably need to move Dieng, Teague.

Please use the remaining cap for these and accumulate assets. Please.

yes lets sign an injured player that is old and make the same mistakes from the past.

Fine, but don't overpay bums instead, is that so hard?

Okay, so as I see it, we're not overly impressed with the FA class next year - hence the lack of 1 year deals - and also have players we can trade. I would have rather had Vonleh for 8 than Gibson for 10, but I get the veteran presence thing. We didn't score a home run, but we didn't panic and do terribly either.

FOH. That’s not enough at all.

You won't get that though.

I wouldn’t take 35 million for future picks that could end up as later firsts when we should be getting a guaranteed lotto pick in Culver. That’s more than fair. Look at that Mozgov/DLo deal to BK as one example. That’s only right.

because they want to sneak into the playoffs before the summer of 2021 so they're attractive to free agents.

They’re smoking crack if they think the likes of Julius Randle and Taj Gibson are making the Knicks attractive

It's not about making them "attractive" right now.

They needed a 4, for whatever reason, they see Randle as a player they can add to the youth and build with. I see him and DLo as similar - risk around them, and upside. The good news is the commitment is 2 (or is it 3) years. If 2, that's great. 3? More pressure it absolutely works out.

I mean Gibson? I see him primarily backing up 5 at this point in his career. I don't think 2nd year Mitch suddenly makes it to averaging 40 mpg, and even then, there is 8 minutes. Gibson will provide some time at 4 and 5, where he can still be solid for 15 mpg.

That's all. I really don't like the two years. The 10 million? Whoever it was was going to be at least 7....I'll live with the 3 million lost.

Randle contract is fine, team option saves it. Team needs to move towards being somewhat competitive, so looking to see what other pieces come that can grow with the kids

Don't mind they released a statement, as ESPN is laughing and using us right now.

The hate New York gets still boggles my mind.

But if we gave KD the max, they'd STILL be ridiculing us for signing an injured, high risk player.

Can't win with these mthfkers!.

Don't Care!

the Taj signing is just not good. no reason to sign him this early in the process when better players are available. its an overpay

Good statement by Mills

Of course it will be savaged by most here, but I'm clapping right now

Its just BS. They flip there message and plan constantly. At least finish out free agency.
