This staff, on paper, is leaps and bounds better than Shurmer's.

No Hal Hunter alone makes this staff better

i guess they didn't want to pay hopkins who wants a new deal....but damn Watson can't be too pleased by this. You can make the case Hopkins is the best WR in football.

That makes no sense. There is no market for David Johnson and moving up 2 rounds is not enough of a gain for trading away Hopkins.

Really like the direction the team is heading in. Attacked 2 weaknesses in the draft and free agency and made them a strength if not this year soon, in the offensive line and the secondary.
Without a pass rush we may not have that great a record this year, if there is one, but with one more draft and possible free agents next year, I’m confident the pass rush and receivers will be the main focus.
I trust Joe Judge, don’t judge him by his record the first year, but by how the team plays. Year 2 is where I see a big leap.

I really like the draft and the focus on the line. Love the McKinney pick as well. It sounds like Judge had a nice influence on the draft.

I didn't like free agency though..the moves for Leonard Williams was a debacle. Bradberry and Blake Martinez are ok but not sure that was the best use of money...Toilo seems like a waste. Think we really needed to use free agency to upgrade the pass rush and didnt really do much there.

Think Giants will be better though. A lot depends on how Jones/Judge will do.

Yeah, they kinda seemed resigned to 2 year process here. The Williams trade is a head scratcher either way, but oh well. This off-season was a good first step. It kinda sucks that a new coaching staff is gonna have to come in with a shortened off-season, but it is what it is. I liked the commitment to the o-line, even though I was seduced by the thought of Simmons and McKinney together in that defense. I think those are the tough decisions you have to make, and o-line should definitely take priority. You want Jones to have a strong year, even if the teams doesn't win enough games. Then next off-season you make a few key additions and really have a shot at the playoffs. Solid start imo.

I mean, he's been a bit of an idiot since he showed up, but I didn't see this coming.
