We carrying the city to the playoffs. Not you guys.
Well, the vast majority of the city doesn't pay attention to your team. So, this is somewhat an odd claim.
What truly doesn't matter in the long run is the Nets winning 40ish games for the next 3 years.
Or did that playoff run with Garnett and Pierce really leave an enduring legacy nobody is aware of?
Yea we know the vast majority of the city holds on to hope that a team that’s been historically terrible and poorly ran for years will someday be good. That’s not new. And yes, the nets being a winning team matters
To who? Besides Nets fans?
If I had to choose between a high attendance records and 17 wins, or 40 wins, making the playoffs and being on the lowest of the attendance record. Give me the latter each and every time. That KG and PP nets team went 44-38 one year. Knicks would throw a parade if they had such a record.
Well, you don't really have a choice, do you. The low attendance thing is kind of a given.
And the Knicks had a 54 win team. I don't remember them printing up "Bone Goal" shirts over it.
In fact since the 2000s started. The nets have managed more stars, playoff appearances and finals appearances. What enduring legacy have you guys left now that we are going into the 2020s? Carmelo drama? Let me know. There’s a whole generation that grew up seeing the knicks be terrible.
...and yet, still nobody cares.
You're missing the pattern.

Look, we're not saying we're not the something something appropriate word something older brother but we're still the older brother. Last year we were the honest to god worst team in the league and we still whooped the Nets' ass on attendance and y'all were a playoff team.
The Nets' popularity stakes obviously improved by getting Durant and Kyrie but on that front the Knicks will be fine. They really will. We've been terrible for like 20 years and still put butts in seats. So when Durant busted that Achilles - really big deal btw - the Knicks could afford to say "yknow, whoa, maybe we shouldn't put our chips there" and backed off of some of what we were offering whereas you guys HAD to still go all out to bring your box office up to par so the Russian could move on.
People will still come to see the Knicks and if Mitch or Randle or RJ or anyone else look like players they'll sell a bunch of jerseys. If they build something in a few years there won't even be a question. Just enjoy the players you got and hope Kyrie isn't an ass and Durant doesn't come back busted. We'll be chillin'.
And, seriously, do leave our forum.
Y’all lost that season series last season to us though so I’m not sure what “whoop ass in attendance” means when we were 3-1 against y’all even though we were also terrible most of last season too. 8-18 at one point actually. We improved. I don’t care who sells out arenas these are not musicians.
You guys had more attendance than the lakers clippers and Boston, all of whom I’m sure most knicks fans would trade places with in a heartbeat if you can trade team success. You were also only a couple behind the warriors as well so my point is proven.
You won 17 games so I understand this is all you can brag about cause I’m sure if you were in our position, y’all would be bragging about more than who sells out seats. As far as the little brother. You guys were 17 win team last year. Knicks are nothing more than a team that was in NY before us. Nothing more, nothing less. Your team has done nothing in 20 years that warrants talking **** outside of a 50+ win season and even that era ended miserably with Melo. Nets made too many strides to be better, just for a team that has been historically terrible to try down on us cause they were great 20+ years ago![]()
I have no doubt the Knicks will remain one of the most popular teams, but so what? If you not winning games, I don’t care. Like I never argued about a sport where popularity and attendance mattered more then winning games.![]()
I never said the knicks won’t be popular. Dolen will continue to take money from that organization. This we know for sure. What I am saying, that doesn’t matter in the long run
We carrying the city to the playoffs. Not you guys.
The Nets won what exactly in the last 20 years? Nothing. They moved to Brooklyn because New Jersey fans didn't even go see them play....just like the 12 BKN fans that don't go either...because they never win shyt!! Other than Kyrie/KD going there...nothing else has ever worked out there. This summer... the headlines are all you got. 70mil per on players that either NEVER stay healthy or won't even suit up together next year...That's what you're puffing your chest out over? In 2-3 years you'll have 2 over the hill injury risks taking up all of your cap. That's not a good plan.
Knicks are on the right path. Nets fans are getting way ahead of themselves right now.
Since the 2000s? More playoff appearances, more finals appearances , more winning seasons, a playoff victory over you guys and more than likely another championship run with KD and Kyrie. What do you have? A man who’s universally laughed at in Dolen, laughed at by the media, your best player is julius randle(he’s not bad by the way but let’s put something in perspective
You haven’t won anything since the 70s. Your history in the 90s was getting bullied by MJ and Hakeem. Then you go bulldozed by a 3rd year Duncan and proceeded to enter the 2000s doing nothing but being garbage
Knicks are the most overrated franchise in basketball msg is only good for people coming and dropping buckets on you, which is made obvious by the fact we have more all stars players on our team since y’all last finals appreance
All the headlines you get are laughing at you. Case in point

You guys are a laughing stock, a joke. When free agency happened. Knicks fans were openly admitting they were ignoring the media cause they knew they would get roasted

He probably doesn't, but bumping knees and tearing an ACL has nothing to do with that though.
You don't tear an ACL from "bumping knees." You tear it because of the physical mechanics of competing forces. That's why it's very important to have strong quads. But I didn't see the injury and really don't know what kind of shape he's in right now. I did see him in the playoffs and he looked way out of shape to me at that time.

Because it’s a slap in the face when knicks have been New York’s biggest basketball team yet the “B” team gets the stars.
Also, the knicks are somewhat of a joke. Any success the nets have or failures you have will be broadcasted. That’s why people talk about you.
When free agency happened. You guys trended solely because people wanted to laugh at you. If you are proud of that, then I mean I guess....
Finally, nobody cares about who gets talked about more. That don’t win rings and This is not a gossip magazine, this is basketball. I’m more concerned about who’s winning, and it looks like NEts will carry the manyle for the city for years to come cause the knicks are a long way from ever being a contender team
I don’t even disrespect the knicks. Honestly I’d like to see the knicks good again, but don’t get it twisted. When it comes to NY worldwide it’s known the Nets are the ones who will have the championship expectations. That’s why the media praises us while laughing at y’all.
The knicks failures will just be the “same ol knicks” we, however, have the pressure of winning now
Untill you have our expectations, then you are the little brother. I say this with love. Can’t be the big brother constantly getting beat up while the little brother has to take care of business. You guys won all of 17 games last year while we fought tooth and nail for playoffs
Man we all know how the media is in New York, when they need numbers they bring up the knicks. All throughout the summer you heard "Oh I heard from my SPECIAL source that KD and KI are teaming up on the Knicks", or KD was seen walking out of Dolan's office. They purposely hyped up fans knowing that the Knicks were planning on raising their own which was stated in the beginning and stress throughout the summer. We picked up players that are going to push these kids to better themselves. KD and KI were never in the plans.
So as far as the Nets, in order to get more likes and hits they have to bring up the Knicks. Your team put their life savings on the line for one player that is never healthy and the other that has a high chance of never coming back the same. Think Kobe and Cousins. If the Knicks had done this they'd be eaten alive.
And that’s the problem. The Knicks have become a punching line in their own city. Even if the nets ceased to exist they will bring up the Knicks to troll y’all. That’s nothing to be proud of so I’m confused as to why knicks fans are bragging about people “talking about the knicks for hits” when it’s always something negative. I as a net fan rather y’all keep that kind of relevancy cause it’s not good.
Don’t mistake any of my posts as making fun of y’all, I’m just being honest. We know the knicks have a lot of history that the nets don’t. I never denied that
I also won’t deny that the media played their part in trolling knicks fans. The nets had no other choice but to take a risk, a risk I believe the Knicks would have taken cause I don’t buy that KD wasn’t offered the max. It’s more believable that he just wanted to follow Kyrie.
And I already stated you guys made good decisions and didn’t overpay for long contracts. We will see this coming season.
The media has never been on the Knicks side and has always caused a riff even when we were good. Any little thing and they're ready to pounce. That's is why most of us take what they say with a grain of salt, heck I stopped watching ESPN when Stewart died because no one else is worth listening to.
Now I can tell your not in here to troll but believe me we get a lot of kids from the brooklyn boards, (all 5 of them) joke but serious, that come in to just brag without true knowledge of what we're doing and what you guys just picked up. We both have high Hope's, we hope our young players become great and you hope you didn't pay 170mil on a player that will never be a star again. But to tell the truth I'd rather be in our position because if things don't work out with ours we can just move on while the Nets would end up in limbo. People keep saying that all the Knicks did was go out and picked up nothing but power forwards, not realizing that 3 can center and the other easily move to small forward. All of them have played major parts on other teams any will help to raise our kids.

Point is, NY has always been Knicks only. Just the way it is.
It's true the Knicks have been mostly bad in the last 20 years. But the arena is still selling out. And the fans stand by the team strong. That is the point. NY is a Knick state.
"A city we will soon own" lol, ok
Nobody cares about the Nets. Only hipsters maybe. And that's because the black & white team colors go better with their outfits.

You know what's bad? You can count on one hand how many people will say they've been a Nets fan all their lives, others will say "I can walk to the stadium, or I got tired of Dolan. If the Knicks showed hope whether the Nets were good or not, those fans would jump ship in a second.
