Wasn't he selected with the Knicks pick traded for garbagenani?

Not sure. Also, not trolling by saying the big V would be nice on the Knicks; I'd still want Mitch as part of the C tandem with him.

I guess either guy wouldn't be happy off the bench.

Mitch is good. I'd just like the Knicks to have also have an all around offensive center as well.

Knicks definitely gonna have to learn how to close, we got 4 people who can hit 30 and rose coming off the bench. No reason that we struggle so hard to close at the end. On another criticism tip our defense is just eh. 21 in the league considering who we've played so far is not just bad, it's alarming.

That being said, 5 and 1 is 5 and 1 I'll take it

RJ incredible. nothing else to say here.
Randle wasn't good, but I give him credit that he didn't force it too much.
Kemba, Fournier and Mitch all looking really nice lately as well.

IQ meanwhile... uff he is getting worse and worse. I don't know why we don't see Grimes here.
And Obi: I can't stand this 10-12 minutes a game bs. either cut randles minutes a little and play obi 4-5 minutes at the 5 as well or trade him for a first round pick. I am pretty sure you are going to get one.

Can't believe I missed that RJ game.

Based off the highlights, I love the off-the-dribble 3s and that drive and dish to Taj.

RJ will have to (and will) develop his ISO game but I've always loved how he plays in pick-and-roll.

It involves two players in the play and incites player movement, so the players are more connected on the court. RJ's a connector, I can't really explain it but - with his natural feel for the game - his presence on the court seems just conducive to team play.

Also, not worried about IQ. He's young and he's learning to adjust. His game is not going to disappear just like that.

A guy I think is worth a look is Terrance Ross if IQ and AB continue to play like crap.

I was thinking the same too regarding Ross.

Did the same thing at Kentucky as in the NBA. Came in and partied too much last year and then the next year he focused up and won SEC player of the year.

I don’t think his offseason was that productive, he was in Miami hanging with Tyler Herro just kind of going through the motions. But if he has a disappointing season this year I can see him grinding hard next offseason. Year 3 IQ is where he’ll really break out

From all reports he was working his ass off in the summer. I think the rule change affected him the most. I still see him taking wild runners trying to draw a foul and he’s not getting the calls now. He gotta adjust, develop a mid range game.

:o
Key to RJ breaking out.

Jokes aside, I agree with you on IQ going to be fine. He is getting open good looks and is getting into the paint and to the basket with ease. Shots just aren't falling right now. I don't think he has it to be a pg though. He is a microwave and needs to be used as that.

RJ was great and nothing felt forced

Watching him impact every aspect of the game felt like watching a superstar. Of course he’d have to do it on a nightly basis and the playoffs to be considered one, but if he did he would be a franchise player

If he does this versus the best teams we’re in for a hell of a ride

Brother... believe it or not, but that's an understatement. He looks nothing like that rookie who was hitting shots from all over the place. Quite frankly, as I've stated... I'm not sure he has a place on this team. I'd like to see what Grimes can do and then there's Rokas getting better over seas. Not to mention Deuce. He just isn't a PG and I've never seen a player trap himself as much as IQ by dribbling into a spot with nowhere to go and picking up his dribble. He's been downright HORRIBLE.
I didn't like IQ last year because all he was doing was chucking shots from everywhere.

I also think his rookie season was a bit overrated, but now I am almost at the point where I give up on him.
his shooting numbers are SO bad but all posters are acting, like he is just in a little slump.
he shot it horribly in the playoffs, in the summer league, in the preseason and now the first 6 games of the regular season.
and he really does nothing else, so whats exactley the point?

Fun Fact:

In the 6 games RJ is 17.2 pts per game. 4 pts per game are associated with C&S variety.

So less then 25% of his pts are associated with C&S.

How does that fit into the narrative?

Trade IQ for two late 1sts and give those minutes to Grimes and McBride to see what they can bring. I think both are gonna be rotation players some day soon.
