Maybe it gets done today. I really don’t trust any of those sources though. Every day someone is saying the deal is done and will be announced. Everyone is just trying to break the news first.

Also, the sooner the deal gets done, the more it means we caved. I hope it drags out. Just because the Wolves are ridiculous (can Towns even play the four??) does not mean we need to make that the benchmark.

Right off, the Wolves can offset Gobert and Towns where 48 minutes of center are covered by them and maybe they are on the floor together for 32 or 28 minutes per game, depending on matchup.

But that aside, a team spends all that to play them together and in the important parts of games. Towns has enough skills and outside shooting to play 4, and if it was 40,30, 20 years ago, wouldn't be a discussion. It'll be interesting to see if Towns forces the other team to match up with size to the extent teams can, or they counter by going smaller, have Towns chasing guys running around shooting 3's, and who it works out for most often.

Biggest issue for the Knicks is that the Jazz brass sees through R.J Barrett. A lot of teams would look at the age and counting stats and value him as a centerpiece but the Jazz must have seen him play.

imagine rooting for a team that just reupped harden to choke in the playoffs and piss off your franchise player forcing him to ask out in a year or two then having the audacity to come to another teams board to talk a lil sht about RJ Barrett.

It's moments like these that I'm glad we don't have Isaiah at the wheel because the deal would've been done by now and we would have given up 6 1sts, Quickley, Grimes, Obi... In fact, I still say Isaiah got in Dolan's ear when we traded for Melo.

I could be wrong, but I think Rose & co. know what they will give Ainge and what they won't. I think they're saying - find a better deal than what we're offering currently and then come back to the table, otherwise take this deal.

This game of Chicken very well may last a while -- meantime, the rumors will continue to be a part.

I would think it probably is....it really does seem like much of the framework has probably been agreed upon. Also read that Austin Ainge was the leaked source but it all sounds fishy
