Keeping Randle while Obi thrives elsewhere will most likely blow up in our faces. Unless we use Randle to get a star. Randle getting stats vs being a better player than Obi has never been proven. Obi never got the chance to prove as much here. That much we know. In extended minutes he always produced. That's not debatable at all.
He may never be able to get 25/10/5 but, those stats have not told the whole story either.
Time will tell. Randle is at his peak. Obi may reach another level that proves to be more helpful to winning.
Well said. And just to add, the idea of trying to mold a high flyer transition player into a corner 3 pt shooter almost seemed like a slap to both management and Obi. Thibs can coach well but ONLY his way. He is terrible at adjusting to a players strengths. He is antiquated in that way but we still can succeed if he gets the players he wants (and doesn‘t run them into the ground.)
I look forward to Obi in the Garden, as I think a majority of Knicks fans do. You know he‘ll get a message through to Thibs, as I think the crowd will (unless we blow them out.)
Yeah fans at the garden should root for the pacers. They even have a player named Benedict.
