I really think Mikal being passive is the result of lack of plays for him... it's 10000% on the coach imo... now with JB out for extended time, I think we'll see more Mikal creating the offense, and with him getting more touches I think we'll see more playmaking from him to create shots for himself and others, I think he's very good at it, better than Hart imo, we'll be pleasantly surprised because what we'll find out, we'll be even madder at the coach, like why wasn't this happening more earlier in the season

finch is very comparable to thibs as far as offensive system. they also lack a playmaking PG/guard - similar to us.

just compare how Kat plays in the 2nd unit - why is cam payne able to get Kat better shots than brunson?

I agree when he is the primary we take at least 8-10 seconds to get set a lot. Is that by design? It's clear that teams are doubling him at the perimeter. Pressing him on ball every time he touches it. Throwing taller defenders at him. Throwing the kitchen sink at him. He is a monster in the end though. Best PG I have ever rooted for in a Knicks uniform. Maybe the HC could mitigate some of the pressure somehow. Maybe let the other 4 guys on the court try to do something. Meh. Ohhhh it could be a rest thing. About as plausible an explanation as there is. Because, yes, he's hounded a lot. But there are a LOT of times he could push and just doesn't. Plod plod plod and then leap over the line with 16 seconds left. That _could_ be the design to give small rest intervals between plays.
