huh? no way is Josh Smith a fit for this team. That's a bad contract detroit will have to keep

Josh Smith defends and can play PF and SF.

Those playoff Hawk teams had Mike Bibby running the point. A lineup of Carmelo, Josh, JR would have 4 ball handlers if you include the PG. Combine that with an energetic bench and the Knicks might upset a team in the playoffs.

Smith would be another terrible contract. We don't not want him. The iq of this team would drop to new lows. We are trying to clear cap space to get Melo help. Josh Smith is not somebody I want as my big 3

I'm a fan of deng, highly doubtful he ever lands here

Bulls are getting Emo about going over the tax line.

Felton, MWP, Beno for Hinrich and Dunleavy.

Drops the Bulls salary by 900k, so Gibson's bonus doesn't put them in the tax.

NY gets rid of Felton, gets an actual PG (althought Hinrich isn't haven't a good year so Bulls may see this as an upgrade), and Dunleavy can provide spacing off the bench.

thibs would blow a gasket if they traded Hinrich, and i'm not sure ny fans would be able to handle a pg that can defend

Carmelo will be 30 yrs old in May. I doubt selling Carmelo on summer 2015 will convince him to stay and waste another year of his prime to maybe play with Rondo, Love, Aldridge, or Gasol.

Josh Smith is the best the Knicks can hope to acquire through trade this year.

Doesn't seem like the ownership cares about Thib's opinion, though. Just being cheap.

It's a small, simple trade, but would improve NY.

I like the yahoo guys trade idea:

NY gets:
Russell Westbrook, Kendrick Perkins

Oklahoma gets:
Tyson Chandler, Tim Hardaway Jr, Raymond Felton, Beno Udrih, we can throw in cash too

It was a Knicks fan that wrote it.....which is why it's so ridiculously in our favor, and has no shot of happening.

i assure you you're not, he's only 28? he's also a free agent though, wonder what kind of money'd he'd command.

he wants 15mil/yr and he's going to get it.As good as he is, he is not a number 2. If he would of accepted less, he would still be a bull.

Bulls wanted to pay him 7-8 mil per year. He's worth at least 11 similar to what Iggy got. He saw what Josh Smith got and wants that money. Someone will give it to him.

Based on what I'm reading in the rumor mill, he's available if he won't commit to resigning with the Cavs. Also, the rumor mill has Boston dying to gain as much FA flexibility in 2015 and Jeff Green is very much in play.

This trade works out but I doubt this happens for a number of reasons:

Boston gets Bargs
Cleve gets Green Favoreni Shump
Knicks get Deng

The Memphis Grizzlies are interested in upgrading the small forward position ahead of the trade deadline.

JR spends most of the time as a SF, you of all people should know that. Besides, wing positions are completely interchangeable.

Return to New York Knicks
