Russell needs to be aggressive from the jump in the 2nd half. None of that standing in the corner sh*t or chilling while Shannon Scott attempts to make plays.

Yea Im leaning this way too. Russell can shoot and pass but he looks pretty meh as an athlete. People throwing out that hes still hurt but I dont buy it. I have real doubts about him being a star in the NBA if hes having trouble creating and getting to the cup/line in college and Ill keep saying it. He can get hot and make some shots but he just doesnt scream out to me that he will translate as well as some think. He needs to go off in the 2nd here. You know Jah will get buckets in the pros. I have no doubts with him.

So if you had the number 1pick today who would you choose??

So if your teammates suck ... Just block their shot and shoot it yourself...

Screams Brandon Roy though on offense no? I mean Roy didn't put it all together until he was a senior and Russell certainly isn't the defender Roy was in college but there's similar traits there. His passing is both good and bad much like Curry, can make any pass while committing the silly turnover. All these guys lacked that explosive first step really, none of them had elite athleticism. I think with how the NBA is evolving Russell has that low bust probability. He's crafty, he's a great shooter and is willing to pass. All that coming from a freshman is awesome sauce essentially.

Russell has moved above Towns and has solidified himself as my #1 prospect (and not a 1a/1b with Towns).

Russell, Towns, then Okafor.

The athleticism argument is legit, but I think it's a combination of that, and him being the only real offensive threat on this team. The center just got an easy two cause the opposing team was focused on him.

I love Russell because he's a beast on ball, but can also play off ball...a great compliment to Melo

Oh I have no doubt Russ will be a good pro. I just dont buy him as a great one yet. His first step is nonexistent it seems. Thompson on Ohio St gets to the basket a lot because hes athletic. Roy got to the basket a lot in the pros too. Russ is scoring now but its all on jumpers. Thats fine if he becomes an elite shooter but if you play up on him can he blow by the defender? I dont know. Hes stepping up here but I still have my doubts at the next level is all. Not trying to hate on the kid because Okafor and Towns arent perfect either.
