If Melo was going to go to the Nets, it would have happened months ago right before the season.

He wants to come to NY, but the Knicks don't want to blow up the team to get him. Plus, the Nuggets don't want to trade him to the place he's wanted to go to all along. So their using the Nets to force the Knicks hand to give up more.

We're probably going to get him, but it's going to cost us Gallo, Fields, and Felton in the end.

I don't blame Walsh for being patient. Is Amare and Melo without those three make us that much better? Is CP3 a sure thing?

It's a risky move to trade for Melo, but its also risky to see him go somewhere else.

IF Melo chooses to sign the EXT with jersey you can kiss CP3 goodbye because they would be able to have the cap space to sign him outright in 2012.

One big way to look at this is that Melo is sending strong signals to the Knicks that he wants them to get this done.

Just said he'd have to think about deeply whether to sign with the Nets. I kind of like that answer. Sounds like a no.
