Re: Jeremy Lin Named Knicks Starting Point Guard

Post#502 » by AMW BMW » Tue Feb 7, 2012 3:34 am

Why in the h3ll is this "scrub" being named starting PG?
He's a scrub
He's never played against real talent, much less against starters of NBA caliber
He schooled John Wall in Summer League, but so what it was Summer League
He wasn't even drafted
He was waived by GS for Jordan
He was waived by Houston for Dalembert
He got a triple double for Erie Dleague, but so what it's Dleague
He can't play better than TD at PG
He can't play better than Bibby at PG
He can't shoot
He's sloppy and turns the ball over
He can't shoot the three
He can't play defense against NBA all stars like Deron Williams and Devin Harris
Why are there so many posts and pages on this scrub benchwarmer?
Because I have thousands of posts and spend all day and night posting and toasting from my couch
I know what I'm talking about. I ain't no ballboy.

YOU SHOULD ALL BE SUSPENDED TO THE END OF THE SEASON! IT'S ALL ON RECORD...
So that real Knicks Fans, who actually have played bball and understand quality bball when we see it can share without all the BS that gets spewed on the board.
For all of us who had to deal with this bantering regarding Lin from day one we'd like to say...
TOLD U SO!
Even if he gets waived tomorrow, TOLD YOU SO!
The Garden was electric cause of that "SCRUB"!
Now STFU and GTFO

Take some Isiah Thomas and Magic Johnson and you mix them up in a pot
Sprinkle a little John Stockton on top, What the F do you got?
Answer: Clearly the fourth quarter gassed out Lin.
Jazz: Under reconstruction, we'll be back.

Lin made a mistake choosing Golden State after he was having a nice summer league run with the Mavs. Had he stayed with Mavs Carlisle would have made him better instead he got burried in Golden State. He could have learned from Kidd and competed against Barea and Beaubois. He wasted two years this way, Mavs did believe in him.

Open your eyes ...... the kid has got off the chart vision of the court. He can break down a defense with ease. Damn good handle and very quick first step. He is perpetual motion. He is an asset to any NBA team

Not a lot of teams were in such dire need of a PG. The Knicks let him play through a lot of mistakes today (8 turnovers), and often times he tried to do too much. Not a hater, just calling it how it is. He'll be great if he could keep the turnovers to a minimum.

Shump is missing something Wade always had, which is the ability to finish.

Lin is very hard to compare to other players - I like the Rondo comparison

I've heard mostly good things from every team that gave him a look. It's just they had their priorities elsewhere. Golden State was not a good fit since they needed front court help far more than back court help. We aren't talking about a can't miss prospect but I do think his race and the Harvard thing did lead people to underestimate his athleticism.

He's not coming out of nowhere. He's someone I wanted the Knicks to look at during his draft year.

Yea that's what's holding him back from being the next Dwayne Wade.

Hes not a good practice player. Lin's best assets can't be shown in practice, like his vision and iq. Hes not exactly athletic or a deadeye shooter.

Easy. NBA scouts underrate basketball IQ. I'm happy for you guys btw.

It's only been two games, but his play reminds me of a Rondo type of pure PG. Always looking to attack, always looking to pass. Hopefully he's a much better shooter/FT shooter when compared to Rondo.

Lack of competition in college, despite being the biggest known sleeper.
Lack of any physical tools. Not exactly athletic, doesn't have quickness.
Lack of shot for the most part.
Bouncing from team to team.

Things he had going for him:
IQ/Relentlessness/Passion for the game.

Lin is that type of dude who gets picked on and stands up to the bully and earns his respect. You can see it now, remember just a few weeks ago where he was fouling guys left and right? He would have 3 fouls in like 4 minutes? Remember him trying to bring the ball up, get pressed and turn it over? He obviously adjusted because look at him now.

I doubt anyone of us expected this, but we knew that he had to be better than the way Douglas was playing. Lin is getting bye right now with his head and heart, hard to not root for that.

The knicks let him play because he was leading the team. He was finding the open man. He was rewarding his teammates to move w/o the ball which makes it harder for the defense to defend.

He also played 44 minutes at a very high energy level. 8 TO's ? for all the good he did for the Knicks tonite ? I'll take 8 TO's every nite if he does this. Look beyond the stats ...lol

I have to agree! It's 2 games! I think people need to chill out. I'm just as excited everyone else and the kid is playing out of his mind right now. However, I'm a realist. People are setting themselves up for an epic disappointment.

Just about any legit NBA guard has the capabilities of playing this well if given the green light to just do their thing and they fly under the opposing coaches game plan. You can evaluate a players true worth once they make it onto an opposing teams scouting report. These next couple of games will truly be revealing, not just on Lin's abilities but the D'Antoni ability to actually game plan and coach.

I do appreciate that he plays with a level of intelligence and he understand pace. I really really look forward to seeing the game on Wednesday.
