Yes he did and he became a much better shooter. Carried that offensively challenged team from time to time.

Eh, hopefully he continues to improve. I'm not super mad with this deal, one thing this team needs is young talented guards.

Melo LOVED THjr and posted a tribute to him on Instagram right after he was traded. THjr was also one of the few teammates who had the balls to get in Melo's face and call him out.

THjr is a MUCH better player now than he was his first two seasons as a Knicks. He has more grit than JR and Shump, and might have a more refined game than both guys.

Mills probably never wanted to get trade him, but Phil was probably obsessed with getting Horace Grant's nephew to run the triangle, so the trade had to be done at the time.

leave the f*cking cap space open! Let the new GM make the decision on who to sign. No we are capped out for the next 3 or 4 years.

Exactly. That argument is dumb on multiple levels.

All of the possible flexibility over the next 3-4 years is completely gone. Any chance to land a top FA to try to pair with KP in the near future was just completely destroyed.

For THJ.

Enough of this.

Idk why this is so hard for some people in here to understand. We're tying up 18 million to a person who deserves nothing near 18 million. He's NOT a star player in the slightest and he's getting a player option. Just shoooooooooot me!

Star players receive double.

You guys don't seem to grasp this money thing. Timmy isn't old or hurt. He's entering his prime. The contract isn't that damn bad.

Why did they offer him so much $$$$$$$ what has he done to deserve it and was there really that much competition from other teams chasing THJR..... looks like a typical bone headed move by the Knicks.

You're right. Giving him about $40 million (including value of trade kicker) above his market value was worth it. /S

Melo is gone.

that would assume this organization would make a smart move. Seeing we just gave THjr that contract...that suggests we aren't a smart organization...

We're committing to not having defense at the 2 guard slot for the next 4 years. Ntlikina better get ready to battle.

Tank will be strong for the next four years for sure. Let's just hope that idiotic management does not start giving up picks.

Can't wait to hear Wally try to talk us into this being a good move on Knicks Night Live...with Hahn constantly interrupting him.

Rudy Gay ... 2 yrs for $17 million... THJr... 4yr for $71 million!!!!!! We are seriously cursed... this doesn't make sense at all. Don't mind signing THJr ... but not at 4yrs $71 million dollars

Return to New York Knicks
