Not if you wait until 2019.

Fact is, we should not be looking to draft guys because of what's on the roster, we're not ready to compete yet. We need talent. If it's Knox, Trae, Mikal, Sexton, Carter, MPJr, etc.

I'm lower on MPJr because of his injury risk, and Carter because of our Frontcourt depth. I'm not sure if he'd get adequate early development. Trae is different because he has ELITE potential and would DEFINITELY get PT.

And I seriously doubt Kawhi hits FA, but that's a different issue.

I can't wait until we draft Mikal and a lot of posters in here who just parrots that he is a lockdown defender start to turn on him when he doesn't hold LeBron to less than a triple double or when Paul George puts 30 on his head. Mikal isn't lockdown. Nobody really is. His biggest trait on that end is that he understands rotations and attacks passing lanes well. He's more of a Covington than a Kawhi for example. He's just above average on ball.

Lots of rumblings today
(Some of which contradict one another).

- SI's latest mock said that the Knicks seem to be zeroed in on drafting a point guard at 9. If Young is gone, they think Sexton is their guy

- Berman said that the Knicks "believe Young would be a significant upgrade with a high upside and would snatch him if he fell.”

(both of those contradict what Givony said yesterday)

- More buzz is building for Trae Young at 3 to Atlanta

- Givony said that Cleveland is enamored with SGA and seems to be their target

- Steve Kyler reaffirmed what Woj said yesterday about Sexton being Orlando's guy as of now

- He also said that Bamba is the most likely to fall of the top 5 guys and while there are some teams interested in the top 7, he doesn't seem to be the top option for any of them

- MPJ said on the radio that he has a near guarantee from a team picking high

The funny thing is that all these media people and sites you just mentioned are all getting their info from just hearing rumors to because NO front office people are gonna tell any media person what they're even thinking about doing let alone what they actually are gonna do ever but especially at this time of year unless they're using those media people to send out smoke screens for them.

Yeah yeah, Curry was drafted at 21, klay at 21, green at 22, lillard 22 butler 22 mitchell 21 so the upside...

I see Mudiay, Lee (assuming he's still on the roster) and Timmy starting again to start the season to see if they have something/showcase Mudiay pre-deadline. Eventually, if they pick Mikal, he'll end up starting, along with Frank. I would think Mudiay would move to more of a 6th man role and they'd move Lee to the bench again when they start to all out tank... Don't think all of Trey/Frank/Mudiay make it to the end of the season on the Knicks roster especially if they're serious about Kyrie in 2019
