Nah, what they really need is some Julius in their lives

Lol he’d actually be great for them off the bench. Much better than Kanter

I genuinely think that both Julius & Bullock would help them.

Lakers with LeBron and AD meeting the Nets with KD in the Finals.

Organic Warriors dropping out of contention with Klay's achilles.

Celtics good again.

Knicks sucking with Payton as their point guard.

My man Zion stuck in New Orleans where they have as many fans in the stands now as they did before the pandemic.

This season is gonna be unbearable until the draft

What do they trade to the Knicks that makes that improves the Knicks, while not hurting Portland?

I mean, besides the obvious Randle addition by subtraction.

But lets assume the Knicks might actually want as asset back.

Or are people contemplating 3 team deals? The honor of carrying Buddy Heild's contract for 3 years?

Haven't really thought that far ahead. Maybe something like their FRP & Little/Simons? Both were really young & raw when drafted, so might still amount to something, though it'd mainly be for the pick.

Plus it's not like Hield would Elf things up while his contract ticked down; Buddy may do little else, but he can shoot :dontknow:

True, but as much as Elf sucks, and I hate him as much as I've ever hated any Knick, Hield is getting paid 20 Million this year, and roughly 19 million per for the next 3 after.

Might be a little steep for a team that isn't there yet. On the other hand, it secures a true shooter at SG to open up things for next few years of RJ's career.

That's precisely why I'd do it. It puts our most important player in a position to succeed instead of position to fail. I'd rather he plays real competitive basketball early in his career than whatever the Knicks are doing these days.

Not to mention, nobody's coming here unless they see we're building something and not treading water.

Yeah, Hield's deal is probably big enough to warrant another sweetener if we did make this a 3way. Maybe add a 2023 pick swap from Portland or Sacramento for the Mavs pick?

NYK in: Hield + Little + Simons + 2021 FRP (POR) + 2023 FRP (SAC)
NYK out: Randle + Bullock + Frank/DSJ + 2023 FRP (DAL)

POR in: Randle + Bullock
POR out: Hood + Kanter + Little + Simons + 2021 FRP

SAC in: Hood + Frank/DSJ + 2023 FRP (DAL)
SAC out: Hield + 2023 FRP (SAC)

We eat Kanter & buy him out if SAC doesn't want him. Finish out the season with something like:

Quickley | Rivers
Hield | Simons
Barrett | Little
Tobbin | Knox II
Robinson | Spellman
+ Noel & Burks if we can't sell them at the deadline

The Pelicans are a more talented version of the Knicks.

Terribly constructed roster.

Zion and Ingram are an awkward fit. They remind me of Melo and Amar'e.

They play two very different styles of basketball.

Calm down, they are playing the real champions. Heat would have won those finals if Dragic and Bam were playing.

They are certainly very different, but I love that pairing for them moving forward. Both are very smart kids who occupy a lot of different parts of the court & can create for their team-mates with the ball in their hands. They'll be a problem as they figure this league out & Zion's shooting comes along.

I mean, also, in terms of young guys, the Pelicans just had more base capital to work with

Lonzo's nothing special, but he was a #2 pick. Ingram was #2 as well, and Zion was the first pick. Plus they have Jaxson Hayes who was an 8th pick. So that's 2 #2 picks, a #8 pick, and a first overall pick

Whereas we have two 8th picks, a 9th pick, and our best prospect is a 3rd overall pick. And we're relying on a 25th and 36th pick to be major contributors

Granted a lot of that comes from the haul they got for AD which kickstarted their rebuild, but at the same time, it just goes to show how higher picks give you much better chances of getting really good players. Hayes would probably be our 2nd or 3rd best prospect depending on how you view Obi/Quickley (assuming he replaces Mitch, not that we have both of them), yet he's an afterthought for the Pelicans.
BaF Lakers:

Nikola Topic/Kasparas Jakucionis
VJ Edgecombe/Jrue Holiday
Shaedon Sharpe/Cedric Coward
Kyle Filipowski/Collin Murray-Boyles
Alex Sarr/Clint Capela

Bench: Malcolm Brogdon/Hansen Yang/Rocco Zikarsky/RJ Luis Jr.

I was only comparing the types of players they've surrounded Zion with.

They're obviously far better than the Knicks, and these ill-fitting veteran players can at least play defense and provide legitimate experience.

Miami Heat play such beautiful basketball man. The ball movement, the player movement, the way they click and work together is so nice
