Lonzo's nothing special, but he was a #2 pick. Ingram was #2 as well, and Zion was the first pick. Plus they have Jaxson Hayes who was an 8th pick. So that's 2 #2 picks, a #8 pick, and a first overall pick
Whereas we have two 8th picks, a 9th pick, and our best prospect is a 3rd overall pick. And we're relying on a 25th and 36th pick to be major contributors
Granted a lot of that comes from the haul they got for AD which kickstarted their rebuild, but at the same time, it just goes to show how higher picks give you much better chances of getting really good players. Hayes would probably be our 2nd or 3rd best prospect depending on how you view Obi/Quickley (assuming he replaces Mitch, not that we have both of them), yet he's an afterthought for the Pelicans.
