Where was this energy when everyone was saying he wouldn't need time to develop cause he was older?

the return wasn't good (unless we get lucky w/ those Dallas picks), but I think the KP trade may have been necessary for the long-term

had KP not been traded, we'd likely only have 1 of Randle/Morris (I still think the FO would have pursued Randle, he'd be a good fit next to KP actually), which means we likely don't have Quickley or the #31 pick in 2021 (I'm booking it that Pistons finish as the worst) + we have more salary cap space for this offseason and aren't paying him ~31M

Randle on less money (so far) + picks is better than KP on a Max. Now for the Mavs, maybe it'll work. They have Luka though. But if you gave the Mavs Randle and the picks back, I think that's better than KP.

I think that I was the one carrying that energy.

The reply was in context and argued that Obi, with his numerous college accolades and smooth game would translate, regardless if he's 22. That he was a plug and play athletic and skilled big from day 1.

Obi's 1 week matinee hasn't discouraged that belief.

Knicks draft player at #1

Player drafted at #59 plays better than the one at #1

Knicks board - "We should have drafted 59 over 1"

The other big thing on the KP trade is this: KP and Mitch probably wouldn't work much. Mitch is not gonna be some offensive force and KP is not versatile enough to play 4 unless you have some great 3 or 2.

And so you're stuck with two bigs. And I think Mitch is def better than KP defensively no matter what anybody might say. Plus I personally think he's just a more positive player overall, even with O factored in, but that part I guess is arguable. I don't think it's arguable that Mitch is better than KP defensively.

Either way, if we had KP on a Max getting hurt all the time, it'd be bad. Again, for the Mavs, going for it with Luka, that's fine. But for the Knicks we're definitely in better shape.

With the Mavs, to be fair, you have to factor in that Timmy has also been really good for them.

When you have a great player, there isn't much you have to do.

I have no desire to go 500 posts with guys on these nonsensical arguments but I felt like I had to speak up for Obi (not directed at you Zen). Especially when its guys who have been wrong so much and they still
dont learn...

Atleast wait until he has 30 games under his belt

At least Obi is signed to CAA so we got the agent fees out of the equation

What intrigues me most is that they should be a team interested in Randle at the deadline. But what could they offer?

Dont understand NBA covid protocols, player gets pulled mid game but other players in same game keep playing and stay out of protocols

The worst thing about the OKC loss is they are the complete anthesis of us, they're doing what we should be doing. They have a team of young guys, everything is really going through those young players, for example Theo Maledon, Poku and Isiah Roby play more minutes per game than Quickley

If Knox had played more, he'd be used to the stage now.

Third game and counting with Kyrie. It’s always about him. Everything and always. Thank goodness he’s not our problem.
