Well, the rubber will hit the road soon enough on that. I don't think the Nuggs will even let Melo get past the deadline, so the money won't be an issue. Correct me if I'm wrong, but word is that you guys really want to avoid getting Bosh'd. If that is in fact the case, you guys lose leverage with each passing day.
As far as tampering issues when NY gets Melo, good luck. I can tell you straight up that Melo is probably talking to Amare, and Amare in turn is talking to Walsh, but good luck proving that beyond a speculative degree. On top of that David Stern already said there is no tampering between two players discussing their future together.
