It really was that game. I think reality set in that the team wasn't a contender. A mid-tier seed at best with Cle, Tor, and Bos being the clear top seeds. Knicks could have grabbed the 4 slot but I guess that wasn't enough? Then internal conflicts started. It's clear there's a division on the team.

People keep throwing that out there division on the team? Starters versus bench? Jennings versus starters? Players seem to get along outside of basketball. Rose over to Melos for turkey day ect.

There is no real conflict its nice to pretend there is so we can ignore the reality that this roster is trash. Look at how fragile it is, one player out we lose to anybody. We start 3 guys who are past their primes and who cost so much that we have very little depth. Nothing surprising here.

Noah can be moved btw. You'd have to attach KOQ, Holiday, or Kuz to the trade, and someone will bite.

Kuz probably doesn't have enough value yet though.

LOL @ people thinking that Melo can be shamed into waving his NTC. He's not going to wave it but keep that fantasy alive if that makes you happy. Also even attempting to make him wave that NTC using mind games would be low rent and chase away free agents.

As for blaming hornacek, why not? We haven't won one game where a starter not named Noah didn't start. It's on the coach to make adjustments in these situations. It's on Hornacek to get this team on the same page.

nope, sorry

hernangomez, kristaps, lee, holiday, and TOP DRAFT are the core.

Lee is 31. I'd trade him. I'd rather keep Kuz at 27 years of age. Also O'quinn.

But the others yeah I agree.

forgot kuz and o'quinn, lee can stay ... he's not dumb.

dakomish23 wrote:So the 18 plus blown layups, passes that got fumbled that would of led to layups and bad passes that blew potetnk layups were fine? Your PG going 1 on 2 at the rim is fine. But the ISO play is where Jeff gets pissed? After all the ISO plays this guy has called this season?

How about you don't start this team behind the 8 ball to being with? You're already playing 4 on 5 with Noah out there. So you compound it by playing LFT who's been pretty terrible all year?

And if you're so upset by the defense, why don't you start the guy who's probably been your best perimeter defender in Holiday? You know, so when he makes a good play on defense it isn't wasted on the 2nd unit who are lost on offense most nights?

During this losing streak Jeff has started 2 guys who have been missing from the rotation during almost all our W's.

Nah. It's on #7 for that

#7 has had a terrible season and not once have you admit to it. there's been nothing positive from melo this season.

he's playing the same way when he wanted d'antoni fired.

Not giving up on Melo after everything he has done for the Knicks. Let's get back on track, starting with the Bux.

False.

I said he's far from an all star and I've called out his poor play many times. Even last game thread I said he played terrible. Go to the PHX game thread. Go to the first f'n game thread of the year. Melo had it going early and I said I don't like all this ISO **** even if it's going in. It's not just when he plays bad. A bad shot I'll say it. Today he came down the court and did some crossover and chucked it and I said it's a terrible shot.

I just don't have an unfair bias against him so I don't blame everything on him. I look at all the guys who do dumb ****.

You guys ignore all the games he's done well and only focus on the bad. Whatever makes you a happy fan

Obviously the middle is the closest to the truth. Melo definitely helped us make the playoffs. He was a very good player in his 20s. He was top 10, and maybe even top 5 in the league.

He's now a shell of his former self, and thinking he will ever regain his abilities is foolish. Age doesn't work that way. It works the opposite.

It's time for him to realize that, and figure out how to close out his career in a winning environment, rather than stay on a team in obvious need of a rebuild.

Melo never had this team to lose it. He has never been that type of player.

I just think Melo is a flawed player. He was just like Amare. In their primes their offense was so absurdly positive that you could over look the lack of defense. Now that he is a very inefficient scorer there is no positives in his game at the current moment. And it will just get worse. Hope he realizes this and goes to Boston maybe. I'd gladly take a pick and crowder.

After Melo peaked in 2013, I knew there was only one way we'd go, and it certainly wasn't up.
