Melo is gone.

that would assume this organization would make a smart move. Seeing we just gave THjr that contract...that suggests we aren't a smart organization...

We are getting Ryan Anderson to pair with THjr.

Probably a Dolan move to win a few more meaningless games with no regard to the team's future.

I'm honestly shocked at how incompetent this franchise is. Heck we made this mistake with Noah last year, we're seeing how tough it its for Hous to unload Ryan Anderson. But we still go and do this.

Melo LOVED THjr and posted a tribute to him on Instagram right after he was traded. THjr was also one of the few teammates who had the balls to get in Melo's face and call him out.

THjr is a MUCH better player now than he was his first two seasons as a Knicks. He has more grit than JR and Shump, and might have a more refined game than both guys.

Mills probably never wanted to get trade him, but Phil was probably obsessed with getting Horace Grant's nephew to run the triangle, so the trade had to be done at the time.

I'm a big fan of THJ the player, but Mills should NOT be making any moves like this as interim GM. This is not his move to make. You're losing all your flexibility the next 3 years.

All of the possible flexibility over the next 3-4 years is completely gone. Any chance to land a top FA to try to pair with KP in the near future was just completely destroyed.

For THJ.

Enough of this.

Idk why this is so hard for some people in here to understand. We're tying up 18 million to a person who deserves nothing near 18 million. He's NOT a star player in the slightest and he's getting a player option. Just shoooooooooot me!

Star players receive double.

You guys don't seem to grasp this money thing. Timmy isn't old or hurt. He's entering his prime. The contract isn't that damn bad.

Why would we want to spend ALL of our available money on players entering their prime right now and especially one that loves to shoot and not defend? Given our timeline, you spend it on mentoring vets, guys that haven't hit their prime, or renting out space to other teams to collect picks. Not to mention in no way does he fit next to Frank because he is a **** ball handler.

Timmy is coming off 13 ppg on 33% shooting in 33 mpg in the playoffs and the Knicks throw all this paper at him

dude still has serious flaws in his game, and this overpaid deal serves no purpose

How can people be trying to justify this one?

18 million can net you better than him. When you need that 18 million in 2 years to help get another star player don't cry. You don't use money just because you have it.

NBA is a offensive league now. You accumulate shooters and hope they stay hot. Timmy is a shooter

One problem. Hardaway is a career .352 3-point shooter. Has never shot above .363. It's respectable, but I wouldn't consider him a "shooter," especially for an SG. More like a "chucker."
