the only thing drake can do now is drop a track to make pusha feel bad about hurting his feelings. "you found my blackface pics, man that really scars / i guess the T in Pusha T stands for 'took it too far'"

This has an Ether feel to it...not just how hard it's hitting but the immediate reaction. I know heads are always trying to look back on that battle in retrospect as closer than it was made out to be but the zeitgeist was similar to what you're seeing on twitter right now. Those personals cut deep, the branding, the beat choice and that image...Idk how you hit back on a character assassination like this, but Drake should take his time because Push hit hard and it was technically clean as a damned whistle too.

Something where simply his quantity of bars trumps Pushs small amount of ammo so far. I think Push is bluffing his confidence personally. He challenged Drake too much for me to believe he's actually ready for more.
"Push is bluffing his confidence"...legitimate question, is this recent album the first time you've heard Pusha's music?
No...... Push brought nothing up that couldn't have been found without just a google search. It's been known that Drake may have had a kid with that girl but I just assumed it was figured out or the kid wasn't actually his. The only thing that shocked me was the blackface... I'm not going to get into the specifics of that. It just seems like a fashion/art idea that in hindsight was dumb and missed the mark. Push also had no ammo back for what Drake actually threw at him... He simply moved the goalposts. If Push was really confident in what else he's got on deck he wouldn't have been so forward about hoping Drake responds IMO. It felt more like Push was hoping to scare him off with a few really personal attacks.

What does that have to do with anything though? He's not supposed to be a reporter chasing a scoop, this is a battle. He attacked Drake's character using information and rumors that the heads are familiar with, that's not a bad thing. He also used the personals in direct response to Drake's disses (Drake tried to flex, so he referenced Baby scamming his artists; Drake had a fiance line so Push used wordplay on a tougher punch). The ammo is the bars, the wordplay and the perception it creates; not whether or not new information is being leaked.

Outside of finding a gay sex tape from Pusha I can’t see how Drake recovers from this only because most of the public doesn’t give a **** about Pusha T and his personal life..it’s not gonna stick to him like it does Drake.

But what I'm saying is how good of an attack on his character can it be if these were already out in public and Drake is still loved by the masses? Look I think Pusha clearly wanted to make it personal because he's not going to out "clever" Drake. What we all know about Drake is that he cares about his image a lot because he wants to be the biggest star in music period. Anything to tarnish that is damaging for sure and Push is smart to attack that..... But I just look at what Push actually said and have to imagine Drake was ready for this. If he's not I'll concede that I was wrong but I think we need to hear Drake's response to this first before we crown anything as Ether... Also Push could just be factually wrong about the son thing...

The thing is, you can tell by reactions that a LOT of people did not know about these or saw them as rumors and didn't look deeper. Funk Flex was like "is the pornstar thing true!? And he said she's his Beyonce!?" so that's not a super common knowledge thing. Spotlighting it was good strategy regardless if it's wrong because there's gonna be a chunk of people that believe it from here on out (conspiracy theories are like that).
But in terms of why I think this is Ether though...I think the story of OJ beat + blackface image + the Adidas shoe line link (they better change that asap) = something that I feel will outlast any bars in this battle. That's the type of attack that sticks even if in the future people will look back and say Drake won bar for bar. No matter how often people pop up and say Jay really won the Nas battle, when someone gets smoked in a battle they got Ether'd. That's what this track is gonna be imho (agreed it's a prediction rather than a fact though).

Just because Pusha says that that’s Drake’s son doesn’t confirm that it actually is. If you dislike Drake then that track was an “ether” and if you do like Drake it wasn’t that big. I’m going to give Drake the benefit of a doubt that his response will address the black face. Without the blackface pic the diss is not as strong.

Re: Official Rap/Hip Hop Thread V
Sorry but a lot of Pusha's bars against Drake were news to me. I NEVER knew about the kid he hides, his baby momma being a thot that he ignores and the blackface.
This is elite content by Push. Honestly, this is the best diss track of the decade. At the very least on the mainstream level. Pusha is war ready.
Drake didn't realize that Pusha is an entirely different species compared to Meek Mill?
Also, NONE of this was out of line. This is the sport. Nothing against the rules.

It's confirmed because of the Adidas sweatsuit line where he used his son's name as title. Also, her twitter page and they have pictures together that got leaked on twitter.

That makeup drake is wearing was the racist logo and mascot for a company from the 1950s that was used for dark colored products. I’m not even going to put the name of the product line here. It’s pretty vulgar. I’m surprised drake isn’t getting more crap over those photos.

Re: Official Rap/Hip Hop Thread V
Perception >>> Reality in this game. Also, don't let the information divulged be the only thing you judge the battle on. From a technical standpoint; wordplay and rebuttals were strewn throughout without forcing rhymes to make the insults fit. The pen aspect of the diss is a big part of how Push was able to take ahold of the narrative here (and Drake did a similar thing with Push being an approachable guy who gets his stories from his brother, that was a beauty of a haymaker too). For the old school head in me though, I feel like Drake's two gaping wounds that are both self-inflicted. Admitting to the ghostwriter and having that blackface image are both pretty much impossible to come back from in my eyes.
Edit: "The M's count different when Baby divides the pie" is a haymaker example for Push btw.

Yeah I saw push said yo this never happened to me before that I got flagged and a post removed. I mean drake had to know once the internet got a hold of it that was it. Flagging it did NOTHING.
