KP gets hurt and the one good thing that could come out of it other than tanking is increasing willy’s value. But nah. Knicks are dumb af

Absolutely **** not. That's the perfect way to crystallize it for the haters of this trade.

i don't love trade, and i agree with this.

People always see it as us getting burned and than two years later we see how the players we were over hyping are no longer in the league or they play for the Cavs, which has been in the negative news all year. LOL.

Now list me all the great mid to late first round picks of the last 30 years.

You said 2nd round picks are useless and i CLEARLY just proved that they aren't useless like you say they are. That is all...over and out.

Wow.. so how many years did you cover to get that list? 2nd rounders are not as valuable as you think with management.

No idea how many years but i know there was still many more players drafted in the 2nd round i could have listed as well but got tired of going through all the lists. I did what i wanted to do which was to prove he was wrong saying 2nd round picks are useless cause they aren't. Are there many more 2nd round picks that never make it to the NBA? Absolutely, but that wasn't the point i was trying to make. I made the point i wanted to make and it was very clear.

A pretty solid return considering Willy's value must have been extremely low because he was benched. Turning a guy that wasn't even getting minutes into 2 2nd rounders is not a bad haul at all.

Willy Hernangomez is not a player that has a lot of value in the modern league. We don't need to cover in depth why. It's been hammered home a million times. Bigs that can't stretch the floor or guard their position are borderline useless. The fact that Willy gets his offense from post ups is another negative. Ground bound, immobile, no range...that's a disaster. What's the difference between willy and Al Jefferson other than age?

Of course Willy has some upside and could maybe add range to become more valuable, but even then, what is anyone expecting from him? His absolute ceiling as a player, and that's if he fills the 99th percentile of his potential, is a smaller, less-skilled version of Jonas Valenciunus, and Jonas is a 20mpg center on a good team. It's extremely unlikely he even comes close to that.

I think it's more likely that Willy is out of the league in 5 years or at best a 3rd big rather than a high-level backup. Let alone starter.

Willy can't protect the rim, can't move his feet on defense, can't stretch the floor, and gets his offense in the least efficient manner possible. He also doesn't have the physical tools to absolutely beast his man. Enes Kanter is a better rebounder, better scorer, bigger beast, and better at defense than Willy and he is probably at best a backup center in today's league. What is anyone expecting of Hernangomez?

We have 23 wins and he can't even outplay Kyle O'quinn.

Getting 2 2nds for a guy that was rotting on our bench is a solid move.

They made a signing from the bargain basement and flipped that into a 2nd.

We take a guy who’s got two years left on his rookie deal, has shown some promise and is only 23 and flip it for 2 2nds

Marks has less to work with and is consistently getting a better return than what we usually get IMO. You wouldn’t want him here?

It's not that bad. Most nba connected people think we did a good job. There's a chance Willy doesn't make it in the league. His game is archaeic. If this is the only trade we make I'll agree it was kinda pointless and stupid. But it's far from disastrous as a lot of people are trying to make it out to be.

willy, baker, lance, jack all belong in the

Image

Hardaway is nothing more than a 3rd option

Burke is decent as a backup point off the bench..

Kanter as a backup center would be amazing but not a starter im about to give a hefty contract too.

Noah needs to retire

Oquinn is decent.. would be a better player on a team with more structure and discipline

Lee needs to be on a contender

Ntilkina needs some milk

Dotson needs a face mask and number change so i can stop thinking he's shumpert

Mcdermott you love him you hate him whatever decent player

welcome to the knicks obryant but your going in the trash can with the others and dont you think twice about playing good and finessing the front office into giving you something your not worth.

Porzingis Image come back soon

I just don't like how any of this went down. Something behind the scenes is going on here. The kid never got a shot from Jeff. He was touted as part of the core. His image was used in promotion of a youth movement he was never a part of. The FO tossed him away like a stale cheese sammich?

It doesn't sit right and, it doesn't look good for the FO/HC IMO. I get the whole...earn his minutes. I was part of that. He did earn a larger role when players were hurt and Kyle was trash. He never got it. They pushed this kid aside and played NOAH in front of him. Never let him play when Noah was suspended. It doesn't add up.

Then they sent him to a team with a log jam just like us. A crap team to boot.

Whatever. On to Lee/KOQ. What happens next. I bet KP will be pissed.

They should have moved O'Quinn, who has value, and showcased Hernangomez for the rest of this year, and traded him in the offseason. Lmfao at this **** franchise. We're always going to suck. KP will be gone as soon as he can get out of this circus.

his value was never sky high.

It was as high as it will likely ever be. It couldn't possibly be lower right now. We're notgoing anywhere for a long time, we're a dumb franchise. We can't do anything even with a stud like KP, we play him out of position and run him into the ground, all to cater to the 4 mediocre centers we shouldn't have had in the first place, then he gets hurt. Then we trade one of them for nothing. You can't make this stuff up. We're a top 5 bottom franchise in sports, easily. Even the Nets will be better than us soon, despite the fact that they traded away 57 first round picks.
