Probably the closest player to having post moves as a center was J Okafor, and his game was dated before he stepped on the court.

I'm eager to see this jump shot that Mitch has been working on in actual game action.

Unlike Howard Mitch would soak up those teaching like a sponge!

lol that style of player is out dated.

Not necessarily for a C. People say the NBA has changed and it has, drastically. But if anything what Randall does is more outdated at PF than a C because you can still play 4 out and 1 in. That 1 in player can be traditional.

Secondly if you watch Hakeem everything he did was fast. He did have the speed to switch on pick and roll and he was an excellent shooter. Maybe not from 3pt range but again, there are 4 out in most systems. A consistent 18fter isnt exactly restrictive to a modern offense at C.

^^^ even wings could benefit from learning a post up game. Posting up isnt a bad thing. It's all about speed. Most of the guys who arent skilled at it take too long because they dont understand how to receive the ball, have to spend alot of time gathering and by the time they are ready to execute just spent 4 seconds of the clock. Watch that video. The jump before the reception puts you in position for a quick move upon the reception and if Hakeem can do it that quick how quickly can a SF or guard do it?

Good post play can still be very valuable to:
Score if guarded 1on1
Score against switches/mismatches
Draw help and force defensive rotations to create good shots
Draw fouls

By the way, using Hakeem as an example, last year NBATV had a Hakeem era Rockets marathon of whole playoff series, game after game. The Rockets played a lot through Hakeem where they surrounded him with shooter, spaced the floor out to the three point line, and had Hakeem draw help and kick the ball out possession after possession (whereas when they played the Knicks, Ewing struggled to score against Hakeem in the post and therefore didn't draw the same level of help and couldn't generate the same level of opportunities for others).
Just because it happened to you, doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Yesterday I was lying; today I'm telling the truth.

Joker is a bully in the post, so is Embiid. Both got moves too. Those two are on a different level in terms of natural talent though, I wish we could've seen them play before they changed the illegal defense rules and allowed defenses to play zone, which had a dramatic impact on post-up play.

Or maybe I misunderstood your point

Many of the FA relationships are formed playing with the Olympic team. It’s important to have guys on that squad if possible.
