Interesting read from a Pelicans beat writer suggests (my takeaway) that an AD trade comes down to 4 teams...

1. Lakers. While the team likes Ingram (is he truly healthy?) there is pressure from within the organization to NOT trade Davis to LA. (no secret there)

2. Clippers. They're not putting SGA on the table for talks... since that's not happening-Pelicans not taking them seriously.

3. Celtics. Pelicans want Tatum! This is the trade they make if Boston puts him on the table. To me, Boston would be silly to do so but with the report that they could've had Kawhi if they'd parted with Brown surfacing... Do they start 2nd guessing themselves? IDK

4. Knicks. Apparently others don't view our youngsters as high as some of us do... SURPRISE!!!! lol. In any case the writer suggests MR as a starting point but also suggests Robinson's upside is limited because of his inability to shoot (somewhat has a point - time will tell). And a serious offer would include Frank, Knox and DSJ and while the writer didn't mention picks... you'd have to assume that this year's 1st (Barrett) would HAVE TO BE included.

As many here have stated/suggested... I think (know) we have the assets to do a trade for AD but at what cost??? And will the Celtics top us by including Tatum???

I don't think there should be any doubt that the Celtics can offer the best package because they easily have the best young players and while we top everyone in what we can give in draft picks the Celtics still have plenty of 1st round picks that they can add to the best package of young players.

We all love Mitch and what he does around the basket and his shot blocking that goes all the way out to the 3 point line but for me it's an easy decision to add Mitch in any deal that could bring A.Davis back to us.

So i agree with this report that if the Celtics want AD and will add J.Tatum in the deal with other assets that they'll get AD.

And just like they should trade a lot of their pieces, so should the Knicks. None of our players will ever be that good.

What ticks me off is that people like you are so impatient and act like you know who will be good and who won't after a year..sometimes two?! Maybe you should go back and look at Kawhi's first and second years. There was NOTHING that indicated he would become what he is. Good thing the Spurs didn't write him off and send him packing. James Harden is another. Same with Paul George.Maybe the best example is Siakam. His numbers were abysmal. They should have ditched him, I guess.

I look at new orleans roster they have no players on there roster outside of jrue holiday, randle, ad,payton and etwaun moore. The pelicans have no wing players on that team they need everything they can get.

That’s a horrible thought process. Why would anybody give the Celtics any package close to that Tatum type deal at the trade deadline knowing it didn’t work out for the Celtics? All teams would lowball and Celtics would have to take a bad offer or lose AD (&Tatum at that point) for nothing. For what? To screw with other teams? Other teams who would have fall back plans? Doesn’t sound smart.

In the end, Celtics will build around Tatum & Brown as they should. Bring Terry back probably too.

I think those 3 first round picks in 2019 draft you can take a chance on a player like kz okpala, keldon johnson, nick alexander walker, romeo langford, or kevin porter type. Even though this isn't a great draft pelican can take chances if that's package for ad.

The things is this tatum doesn't care about getting traded he already said number times i will play for anybody it goes with what the pelicans are thinking. Pelicans are saying no young player we want trade for wants to be here lonzo ball, kuzma, hart all complained about potentially going there while tatum is fine with it. The other thing about if ad doesn't work out for the celtics watch riley and heat call and will give everything for ad draft picks and young players. Thing about this if ad trade doesn't workout for them and gives ad to miami he basically saying phuck you to LA and NYC because ad would never leave miami.
