Quickley should be starting! Did you see how he can create the foul on his shots to get to the line? His shooting of 3-11 was deceiving. Three of those misses were because he got fouled by forcing his defender to foul him.
Mitchell, Obi, Knox, RJ and Quickley! Win or lose!
I bet that the +/- is super high on the plus side.
Randle needs to go already! Trade him for a future second round pick. Or something. No more players.

Come on Thibs! Please start Obi.

If you want any semblance of spacing Rivers needs to be in the rotation or you're going to see what happened last night for 3 quarters happen a lot more often which isn't beneficial for anyone including "the Kids". Has been a good spot up and pull up shooter for 2-3 years now. He also helps defensively. Payton has to have the right lineup around him but contrary to popular belief he's not a bad player and is good for our young shooters to get looks off of.

Lets be real. It will probably take them 50 games to figure out Mitch/Obi/RJ/Quickley /(someone else that can shoot) should be starting.

PF: Lauri Markkanen | Randle | Tucker
SF: Trey Murphy | Trent | Anderson | Simone

Welcome to my last 2 1/2 seasons (the 1/2 season to end 18-19 we kind of did this). Don’t get your hopes up

ezmoney707 wrote:Quickley very well might be a starting PG in this league, it wasn’t even the assist numbers that impressed me last night , it was him directing players on the floor where to go. He had one play where the floor was crowded on one side and directed Mitch to come up to the roll position before he even had the ball back in his hands to run the pick n roll and then set up the lob to Mitch, that’s real PG play.

That 4th quarter was the most fun watching the Knicks in a very long time.

If we beat a G league talent... we still suck?!?!

I don't get those discounting the performance. They did what they were SUPPOSED to do! I can recall when we would have sucked against these guys...as in like last year. Glad to see the kids performing well

just because a sucky team beats another sucky team, that doesnt make said sucky team unsucky.

So you're not the least bit optimistic? Some tend to leave out the part that we were playing with 2 rookies and also a 2nd year player along with 2 other 3rd year players.

About as optimistic as I was watching Jimmer Fredette drop 50 in the G league.

I do like the young core of this team. Just hope management plays the right players and the FO makes the right moves. The last 20 years shows me they probably wont.

In spite of his good game, Knox"s contract value could be negative by the end of the year. Thats 6M in cap space for next season.

I think if we don't pick Mitch"s team option, he will be a RFA by the end of the year and we will have control of his next contract. If we pick it, he will be a UFA in 2022 and could go to wherever he wants.

I believe the Knicks haven't picked up either of those.

True. The handle needs to be tightened up. No argument there. But the ball didn’t stick to his hands either.

I still want to see him play over DSJ.

EDIT: just found a tweet of it

He boarded and passed in one motion. That's top level stuff. That takes some kind of court awareness. Maybe his hoops IQ is growing

knox also played qb in highschool. stuff like that translates, he has more passing acumen then we’ve probably seen.

Sure, the 4th quarter comeback was against the Cleveland G-league team but that is exactly what we want to see from the young guys, they absolutely destroyed that bunch of 3rd stringers by 20 points in the quarter.

I'm gonna skip over the vets....can we just do that for the whole season on the floor?

RJ was his usual solid self and for the 3rd straight game he was also efficient so let's hope he can continue to be that way. He's shot really well ever since the 0-6 start in game 1, he's not tried to do too much and if of some others it can be said to consume too much offensive energy to get their stats then RJ doesn't, he let's the game flow naturally and he feeds the offensive energy.

Obi wasn't spectacular, he was solid, too. He plays a nice team game and doesn't try to force it. His defense is still kind of inconsistent but he isn't a complete liability on that end and for a rookie who is willing to give the effort to play it and learn from his mistakes we can appreciate that.

Knox needs to let the game come to him more but he hasn't had the type of guard next to him that will serve it up consistently in his spots. Maybe IQ can be that for him.

Speaking of IQ it was nice to see him get that clutch mins and see him spark a run with it. He may not be what people envision when thinking of pure PG but he can organize the offense, run the P&R, he attacks the paint, he can hit shots even though they haven't been falling for him yet and he does a nice job of keeping the offense flowing....plus he plays defense. Good stuff so far but let's see him do it against starters before we crown him the PG future for the Knicks though I am a fan, where's that wagon?

Defensive Dennis is the best Dennis... I liked what I saw when he doesn't try to over dribble the ball or force up shots...other than the one heat check he was pretty good about playing a role. That guy who had given good defensive effort the last two games has a place as a back up guard if he can be that guy every game, let's see if he has found his niche or if it was just an accident and he will never find this spot again.

Mitch is frustrating sometimes and just a joy to watch others. He still isn't dependable enough to be the every game starter but he may grow into one in a couple years....just do it after he signs his next contract at a team friendly cap number, right?

Altogether, the 4 quarter beat down on the whole team Dot led back up crew was something fans can enjoy for a couple days before Friday's game undoubtedly will wash away the good vibes because you know of course it will....this is the Knicks.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.
