Sure, the 4th quarter comeback was against the Cleveland G-league team but that is exactly what we want to see from the young guys, they absolutely destroyed that bunch of 3rd stringers by 20 points in the quarter.
I'm gonna skip over the vets....can we just do that for the whole season on the floor?
RJ was his usual solid self and for the 3rd straight game he was also efficient so let's hope he can continue to be that way. He's shot really well ever since the 0-6 start in game 1, he's not tried to do too much and if of some others it can be said to consume too much offensive energy to get their stats then RJ doesn't, he let's the game flow naturally and he feeds the offensive energy.
Obi wasn't spectacular, he was solid, too. He plays a nice team game and doesn't try to force it. His defense is still kind of inconsistent but he isn't a complete liability on that end and for a rookie who is willing to give the effort to play it and learn from his mistakes we can appreciate that.
Knox needs to let the game come to him more but he hasn't had the type of guard next to him that will serve it up consistently in his spots. Maybe IQ can be that for him.
Speaking of IQ it was nice to see him get that clutch mins and see him spark a run with it. He may not be what people envision when thinking of pure PG but he can organize the offense, run the P&R, he attacks the paint, he can hit shots even though they haven't been falling for him yet and he does a nice job of keeping the offense flowing....plus he plays defense. Good stuff so far but let's see him do it against starters before we crown him the PG future for the Knicks though I am a fan, where's that wagon?
Defensive Dennis is the best Dennis... I liked what I saw when he doesn't try to over dribble the ball or force up shots...other than the one heat check he was pretty good about playing a role. That guy who had given good defensive effort the last two games has a place as a back up guard if he can be that guy every game, let's see if he has found his niche or if it was just an accident and he will never find this spot again.
Mitch is frustrating sometimes and just a joy to watch others. He still isn't dependable enough to be the every game starter but he may grow into one in a couple years....just do it after he signs his next contract at a team friendly cap number, right?
Altogether, the 4 quarter beat down on the whole team Dot led back up crew was something fans can enjoy for a couple days before Friday's game undoubtedly will wash away the good vibes because you know of course it will....this is the Knicks.
If you'd rather see your team fail so you can be right
...you are a fan of your opinion not the team.
