I call a little bit of BS here. I agree that once in the series he was limited,
BUT ... This is because of Thibs obsession with winning every regular season game by grinding Julius and RJ 38+ minutes a **** game.
IF he had managed the roster, benched the obviously awful Payton a month earlier he could have gotten some evaluation and game time for I.Q. at starter, or Frank at starter. Maybe they would have sucked, but you'd at least have evaluated them and gotten them some run. It was obvious to everyone on Earth who could fire 2 neurons except Thibs and Perry that Payton was a terrible player, a terrible fit and has no future here.
Thibs is an awful in game coach, terrible at roster and player management. He's a floor raising motivator and looks great following up the absolute dumpster level coaches we've had the past 4 years, but overall he's awful.
