Hooray, now cheapass Hal can’t use Stroman’s contract as an excuse not to spend, despite the fact that we were saddled with Stroman’s contract because he didn’t want to spend.

Can’t wait to see what excuse he comes up with now.

Ok so our pitching has stepped up recently. Fried is our Ace, Rodon has been exceptional except for his last outing. Warren pitched really well his last game, I have real confidence in this kid, he has really good stuff, I think he can at least be our 4th or 5th starter. Schmidt is still coming back from injury so we need to let him shake some rust off. Yarbough has been a nice cheap find, he's trying to stay in the league and pitch for his next contract. Once we get Gil back I think we'll be fine. The kids is solid so far, hope they can keep it up. We're getting great results from Grisham and Goldy as well.

yea that was a nasty injury, you can clearly see his left foot broken ughh such a bummer, I felt like this was his little break out year smfh hopefully Vivas or Peraza can step in

What really sucks about the Cabrera injury is it looked avoidable, sure he wishes he had that one back. If he just slid he would've been fine, if you get called out no big deal. This stuff needs to be studied.

The changing of direction after almost over running home plate most likely got him hurt. It's how injuries on the job happen by the change of direction while going at a speed, always better to fall on your ass or elbow or just go in that same direction.

Jeter was phenomenal at injury avoidance. Remember the 2004 dive into the stands play. It was a full on sprint when he caught the ball had he tried to avoid going into the stands it's very possible he breaks an ankle. In that same play Jeter had the presence of mind to turn his shoulder to avoid landing on his bad shoulder that got separated a year prior.

By no means am I trying to sound crass here send my well wishes to Cabrera and a full and speedy recovery. Really sucks to lose a great team player like him.
