Wasn't really a huge fan of the team they put together but I would give them another year before making any major changes. Personally I would look to flip Mitch in a package for another big wing/4 to move OG down to the 3 and Hart to the bench and maybe look for another ball handler for the 2nd unit.

Mitch has been solid since his return but he is entering the last year of his deal and i'm not sure I would want to extend an injury prone big heading towards 30 years old. Rim runner types can lose their usefulness as their athleticism declines.

Because we blew our wad. Last year we had a contending team with a ton of picks and assets. We cashed them in and it wasn’t close to enough.

Memphis wants to blow it up. Bridges still has strong value and was misused here. KAT finished top 10 in mvp even with the warts and is not a great fit with Brunson(from a defensive standpoint)

JJJ/Bane & Clark (for salary matching) for KAT/Bridges

JJJ/Mitch
OG/JJJ
Hart/OG
Bane/McBride
Brunson/Wright

Thats a much better lineup to assemble around Brunson.

OR

Giannis and Kuzma for KAT and Bridges and 3 FRP swaps and Wash 1st.

If he stays he has to be a sixth man. They got to get somebody else in there to be a starter.

Brunson has looked bad through this whole series. More ball handlers and self creators or needed on the roster.

The front office wanted to put the ball in his hands more but that means there is no other engine the team can run on when he is having a bad game.

This was a major concern coming into the season after losing Randle and DDV. They were both secondary ball handlers for the Knicks. Even Alec Burks was another option.

They were banking on Deuce to handle the load and of course Payne.

I think next year with Kolek it will be much better.

He might be the best defensive center in the league. He did things these playoffs no other center is doing defensively. Trading him for KAT to be the permanent replacement at Center seems like a mistake.

We are in the worst position that we have been in for the last 5 years. Our flexibility and assets are at an all time low. And we just saw that the group we have 100 percent doesn’t have it. If you can’t beat the pacers you are light years away from a title. We need wholesale changes

I feel like KAT will get hunted no matter what position you put him at so I wouldn't mind having another versatile defender to play between he and Brunson. Ideally I would have a shot blocking 4 that guards 3-5, OG guarding 2-4 and maybe Mikal guarding 1-3 and just hiding Brunson and KAT where you can.

Sometimes playing KAT and Mitch together just meant having another guy that had trouble closing out to shooters. KAT wasn't my choice of guys to bring in this off-season but the front office wanted him. Mitch isn't getting any younger and you never know when he will get injured again. This might be the best chance to get some value for him.

I'm also not a fan of having so many guys that have huge limitations on one end of the court.

I’m sorry for honest engagement from a 40 year fan and 15 year participant here. I’m giving my honest thoughts and venting. I thought this was the place for that. Good to hear shade from a forum mod for using this for its intended purpose

It's not engagement. It's screaming basically the same post into every void you can find.

It's a rough night for everyone but this isn't the way to use this forum.
