It's like fans/media/players force Thibs to play the bench at least a little. It's like Mikal needs to suggest the most basic stuff due to Thibs complete uncreativity to get things going. Pitiful....

Brunsons shotmaking for his size is just insane.
KAT was really not good in this one. I just don't understand why we can't run a single play, that gets him an open three.
bench is so atrocious, I don't even have words..

the pick and pop requires good picks. and Detroit is a really good perimeter defensive team. way better than they should be. credit to JB bitcherstaff for training them on that scheme.

there's a little free candy in the midrange. they hawk the three and collapse on the paint impressively. if you can break the perimeter, there is a little bit of 15-footer-ish opportunity. brunson and mikal found some of it. OG struggles to create his own shot but was looking for some if it too.

love KAT, and i think he showed up this series with defense and toughness when the pistons took his scoring opportunities away. but he will need to be a better screener to get more of what we can.

Boston just a touch matchup because they play 5 out and really don't have a weak defender (outside of KP having to guard in space) but they are going to put KP on Hart. So we will probably see a lot of Brunson/Hart P&R action with KP in drop...but Jrue and White they can throw at brunson instead of just Ausar. The difference his Pistons have two non-shooters and they still hurt us at times with the 3 ball which the Celtics usually play lineups with 5 shooters.

They are going to spam P&R with bringing Brunson and KAT into the action and Cade isn't a great shooter so OG had time to recover...but Tatum is a much better shooter so don't think the way we defended the P&R vs the pistons will apply to Celtics.

This is going to be a curb stomping. We don't have enough shooting with size. We have to go back to KAT post ups off the cross screen like in the 90s and slow the game doen that way.

Orlando tried to slow it down with defence and failed. And we are worse defenders than them. And playing fast just leads to a 3 point contest.

Everyone will blame Thibs but this is just a mismatch in every way.

Talent seems pretty level here except they have better coaching and chemistry. Thibs is one of the regular season coaching GOATs but there’s a reason he’s lost in the playoffs over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Nah bro you comparisons are somewhat off. The thing is, does it even make sense to compare matchup wise? Sure Brunson at this point for example is better than Holiday but their roles are completely different.

My comment was about roster talent, not matchups. Mizzoula and Thibs are working with similar amounts of overall talent, yet likely series outcome is C’s gentleman’s sweep. What’s that tell you about coaching?

I think the two main issued with Bridges are:

1. There is something mental going on with his shot. It is not as bad as with players like Fultz, Simmons but the amount of open shots he misses is concerning for a solid shooter. Like the contested shots where he has no time to think seem much easier for him.

2. He does not like Thibs and how he deploys the players. I don't think he is feeling that whole system and he is one of those guys that needs to be comfortable to play his best.
