There's a lot of idiots on here saying he doesn't play hard. That's complete horse ish. He plays just as hard as a guy like Wes Mathews, Teague, or Gasol. Why would you have low expectations for a guy who's a instant mismatch on the floor, he's going to be a starter in New York next season unless some blockbuster happens. I expect him to drop 18 points a game easily. The rebounding? He probably knows about it and heck he said he wants to get better. I'm one of the firm believers that the 13 game streak wasn't a fluke, he wasn't put in a situation where he could succeed. The idiots on the Raptors front office thought he was a franchise player and that he could have guys as bad as DeRozan being his second option.

Get used to them.
They will come up with some amazingly creative reasons for why he doesn't play well.
The truth is (as you will soon see for yourself) that he's just not a very good player.

One of the other positives from the trade. All the Bargnani fanboys are gone from our board. I have no idea how you can continue to defend the guy after those last 2 seasons.

Great- so why are you here to discuss him since you are soooo happy?

c'mon man, you don't remember when the knicks board flooded the raptor's board upon their acquisition of landry fields.. oh wait.

I know right... I didn't make one freaking post there- regardless of the fact that their front office purposely tried to block the Nash deal. Thank god they did but thats another story Hakeem

I'm on the 10% optimistic crowd. Bargniani is healthy and this is his shot at redemption. He's going to get his fair shake here.

I can see Bargs having a break out year, possibly an all-star! With his will to succeed, as evident in the above interview, you guys wont be disappointed. I predict Dirk like offensive numbers.

Moreover you can expect better defense and rebounding numbers, he wants to prove his haters wrong!

I am part of the 10% optimists.
This is the way I see it. We have a great team, a capable coach, a winning philosophy, and a superstar. Key ingredients for a Chip.
We have 3 major weaknesses.
1)Rebounding. In the playoffs, when the pace is slowed and defenses have time to set, we will get killed by Indiana and the Bulls. Having Kmart for a whole season or someone to maintain rebounding while Tyson rests is necessary.
this weakness has not yet been addressed(still praying for 30 min of Brand or a breakout year from Tyler)

2)Perimeter defense. A healthy Shump for the season will help. Artest will help more. this weakness has not yet been addressed completely.

3)a second scorer. I wanted josh Smith, defends the PF, can play SF.
This is what functionally Bargaini brings. Less defense, superior offense. This was probably our greatest weakness. JR's points may decrease, but his effectiveness will increase.
Talent wins, and that's what wins Chips. Out of all the criticism thrown at the Italian, no one questions his elite talent level.
That's why I like this trade. Production wise, that's what we have to wait and see.

Yeah because one bad game definitely means he's going to be terrible.

What a stupid post.

I'm Italian, I'm from Rome and I strongly appreciate Andrea since he was a kid so I'm obviously a Bargnani's fan.
Reading this forum it seems to me that the topic is filled with 40% of optimism, 40% of neutral Knicks fans waiting to see him play and 20% of hating Canadian fans just afraid to see a great season coming from Andrea.

I can only tell to you that Andrea is working every day for hours in a Rome's gym (the same when was a kid with the same coach, a great italian former player and shooter) and running in the most beautiful Rome's park. Probably Raptors fans will say that he is only eating his granma homemade pasta that, for sure, is delicious. Then he will work for 2 months with our National Team plreparing and playing the European Championships. He will have to train so much and play very high level games every 2 days. He will be in great shape in NY starting from day 1.

There are "fans" in here that turn on players during a game.

It's absolutely stupid in fact. He's saying that the verdict on Bargnani will be decided after one bad game. LeBron has bad games. It means nothing.

Who cares about who turns on whom. It means nothing. There are smart fans and dumb fans. Doesn't mean crap if a dumb fan decides everything about a player after one game. And yes, that is dumb.

Edited. I hadn't had my Sunday coffee.

But the point still stands -- he is constantly negative and adds little to this forum with his baseless trolling. It does not make the site better and we will tighten the leash on posters who think it's "good posting" to just spew their crap all the time and can't back it up, or be respectful of other posters.

He hates Bargs, fine. Has he given any basketball reasons why in a detailed and mature manner? Not really. And I suspect it's because he can't.

All he has is "he can't rebound, he had a bad year." We all know that. No reason to keep saying that and he never progresses past that original point. Move on. It's all negative and ruins the experience of a smart basketball forum, so we won't tolerate it.

Evidence: "Fanboys" is a pretty silly term that is intended to be negative and inflammatory. What does it mean anyway? We're all fans lol.

No. He said fans will turn on him after one bad game...I see no mention of "verdict."

He's a Knicks fan who made a simple observation based on what he's seen on this board, and you called his post "stupid."

Either way, I'm done defending him.

Absolutely. It's a stupid post with a swear word, and makes no point, even if he's the biggest Knicks fan ever.

The equivalent of high school bathroom graffiti, more or less. That's stupid.
