We would love them, but we loved Frank Williams so take that for what it's worth. I just don't see those guys being the kind of players you'd trade a HOFer for. The Pels are looking for picks.

the nets and clippers offers are not competitive with us, the lakers or celtics. they're just not. there's not a premium asset in there.

I dunno, maybe Nola wants to sign and trade for Middleton/Brogdon, try and win next year with them, Zion, and Jrue. They really don't have the luxury of being able to tank and still be profitable like some teams

Yeah if they go for vets it likely means they want to compete next year. If not I would think Barrett would be the top asset they would target. Though a 3 man draft Lakers getting 4 could loom large if they like a 4th guy anywhere near RJ.

But why on earth does Davis even consider the Bucks? Him and Giannis together is terrible - neither are a threat from 3. Alright, maybe the league just lets them walk their way to the title? And is Milwaukee a "big" market?

Maybe hold up for just a second on the "If we get KD, we won't be relying on kids" way of looking at this. At first I would have entirely agreed with it too. However, draft picks can provide affordable value. If you use the kids in smaller roles, which goes without saying will happen if you get a KD+AD for instance.

If you trade Frank/DSj for the 6th pick, you're hoping to find a useful piece that will be cost-controlled for a few more years. Same with Mitch being so cheap. Same with Knox who I think is ready to play a somewhat SMALL but manageable and helpful role on a very good team. (Hopefully same for RJ, although I'd think he would be gone for any AD trade.)

In reality, you could just sign KD and keep all your young guys. Siakam is showing you can be young and contribute, and the East is not exactly full of powerhouses.
