This is where if Wiseman/LaMelo go 1 and 2 and Edwards is on the board, where I would trade down to say the 5th spot.
In my observation RJ and Edwards play the same position as Barrett (6'6") shooting guard, at the 3 RJ will be undersized in today's game. Facing the likes of the Siakams (6'9") and Tatums (6'8") regularly.
But RJ is ahead of the curve as his shooting numbers are up including his free throw percentages. But also he has an edge in Edwards as far as his tenacity, which we have been witnessing.
Also this is RJ's draft profile on NBADraftRoom.com
Defensively he can guard 4 positions and he plays with intensity. He is quick to react to the ball and uses his length well to pester the ball handler and play the passing lanes.
A competitor who steps up in big moments, Barrett is at his best with the game on the line or when facing a high level of competition. He seems to have that it factor that separates the great players from the good players. This year another 3rd pick and an Edwards slot can offer us additional picks plus still a shot at either Halliburton and Cole Anthony.
