We don't need no help to kill the planet anyway. Yes, we're a little slower than a big a** meteor would be, but as opposed to that meteor, humans can't be derailed. We're gonna get this job done, no matter what.

We can't and we won't kill the planet. What we'll kill is ourselves and maybe a couple a dozen other species, which the planet won't even notice. Don't overestimate the power of humans.

What I dont get is if the Mayans could prophecize thousands of years ahead, how come they couldn't prophecize the Europeans coming in and raping their land and pillaging their women?

You know what i meant my fellow countryman. We'll make her unliveable for us, that's for sure. But yeah, she'll probably heal herself once we're out of picture. On a second thought, i think we're a threat to her... Who knows what kind of s**t we'll come up with in the next centuries. I can definitely see somebody create a bomb we can't even imagine yet. A bomb that can blow up everything. Water will be gone, that's also seems sure right now. Mad Max and Waterworld will be documentaries.
The planet is going to die eventually once the sun burns out. The core will expand, lose hydrogen and helium, and then bye bye earth. The good news is that won't happen for about 5 billion years, and by that time (long before then actually) Im confident that humans will have mastered space travel and could probably just take everyone to some other planet

Looks like it's not happening...at least, might not happen for at least another 50-100 years. I don't believe the 2012 crap/the world is gonna end soon anyway. Just thought it was interesting.
Just found this too...some other failed doomsday predictions.

remember the Y2K bug thing?
remember what happened the year after?
I THINK this whole Mayan calendar is just a ploy to sort of, get people programmed for an event that will take place around that time.
maybe a false flag alien invasion at the london olympics to bring forth the new world order?

When NASA blasted a hole in the moon last year in search of water, scientists figured there would be a splash. They just didn't know how big. Now new results from the Hollywood-esque moonshot reveal lots of water in a crater where the sun never shines — 41 gallons of ice and vapor.
That may not sound like much — it's what a typical washing machine uses for a load — but it's almost twice as much as researchers had initially measured and more than they ever expected to find.
The estimate represents only what scientists can see from the debris plume that was kicked up from the high-speed crash near the south pole by a NASA spacecraft on Oct. 9, 2009.
Mission chief scientist Anthony Colaprete of the NASA Ames Research Center calculates there could be 1 billion gallons of water in the crater that was hit — enough to fill 1,500 Olympic-sized swimming pools.

^Yeah, I saw that yesterday on the News.
The Water in that crater alone is estimated to be in the Billions in terms of Gallons. Which can sustain Astronauts for awhile in any Colonies.

Economy, Climate Change, Season Shift
Is it me or have people really started becoming jerks this time of year over the past decade?
People seem high strung and impatient. People seem to spend impulsively then experience remorse and look to create conflict.
People seem to drive very aggressively and seem much more willing to endanger themselves in driving and even willing to escalate to physical confrontation over driving.
People in stores less aware to their surroundings. Almost causing inconvenience to others. (clogging lanes) and dont react apologetically but aggressively.
Economy. Time to winterize. The savings on the electric bill after retiring the AC are not savings. It goes towards winterizing. This includes the looming holiday season. My theory is people are in hard times anticipating the financial stresses of the holiday season. cont............
The climate has slowly changed over the past years it seems. Dryer springs and falls. Wetter winters and shorter more humid summers.
Seasons shifting. People have instinct and habits. Over generations our body and minds are used to the normalcy of the seasons that surround us. Is it to much to think that 80 degree falls and trees stacked with fresh foliage can cause involuntary confusion and mental stress?
I feel these 3 things may be having a effect on the behavior of people. These changes are subtle. Hard to recognize year to year. Also out of our control. Summer is good times. With what seems to be a shorter period of enjoyable weather I believe this is causing a sense of desperation in people. Unknowingly confused by climate changes and anticipating big spending in what we are told is a slumping economy but feels more like unfair rate inflation. Another thing out of our control.
If you are one that is in touch and aware beyond self, do you feel static? Negative energy? Thick air? Do you see the look of depression in people eyes more often this time of year? Or any type of shift in personality or behavior?
Are the dogs barking at nothing at night?
Are the birds chirping at strange times?
Are the cats abnormally frisky at strange times?
Am I thinking to much?
If I am when is the last time you had a flu shot?

I blame the cold weather, but I notice a lot more people in bad moods and it seems like every year as the winter approaches and hits it's peak I lose a loved one. It's definitely strange.

"A Zapruder-esque video is circling the Internet at the moment, and of all the oddball things, it's footage from a Charlie Chaplin film that appears to show a woman (or is it a man in drag?) talking on a mobile phone.
Which is weird, because cell phones totally didn't exist in 1928.
OMFG!!"
Wow, what do you guys think?

I'll look for the link, but during that time, hearing aids were about the size of a cell phone and would be held in that way.
However, a person traveling through time makes more sense.
