Damn, I've looked at it like 4 times now and he's still hard to read. He'd be a great poker player. He does look pissed that he's getting these questions but the fact that he cuts the reporter off on the first queston and says "yeah..." then says "not at all" makes me really think he was prepared, like he was knew something and was holding back then went into his "post-game routine." I don't know its too late for this BS. My guess is that he hadn't heard from Masari or Rose but perhaps heard whispers around the arena hence him being prepared but who knows

No, but we already know that if he goes to NJ, it's out of fear of money, not love of that situation.

It's the textbook definition of settling.

We really should of learned our lessons with these trade rumors, we shouldn't panic unless it is official. It's obvious these sources don't even know what's going on or they are being told the opposite.

Rejected, or at least a little bit unwanted. But that doesn't seem to stop them or Melo's horrible agents.

The ONLY way I can see Melo's agents working deals that he is not totally aware of what's happening is if WWW & Leon Rose told Melo they could get a verbal nod that CP3 will join him in NJN/BKLYN when his contract expires in '12. THAT may get Melo to perk up andvaccept the deal and wait the 2 seasons. However, that is a BIG risk, and admittedly far fetched.

Melo to me seems like he wants out of Denver now. He seems like he wants to win now, can't imagine him being open to an idea of waiting 2 more seasons in addition to this one before he really in his heart believes he will have a shot at something special.

Even Chauncey Billups doesn't know what's going on allegedly

"I don't know nothing new,'' Billups said when asked about his possible inclusion in a deal. "So I don't have nothing new to tell you all. I sure don't.''

Just addressing a specific point - Billups can't decline to go to NJ.

He'd be in breach of contract, which would be forfeiting $10m for him.

He can't force a buyout. Holding out wouldn't make any sense (why would the Nets buy him out if his only leverage would be to not report so the Nets wouldn't have to pay him at all).

He can't retire and come back. He'd still be under contract to the Nets.

All he can do is ask the Nets, and why would they say yes?

Pressed for some new material, Anthony then was asked if that's an indication he hasn't agreed to sign an extension with New Jersey, which many believe is the only way the Nets would deal for him.

"I haven't heard anything on that,'' Anthony said. "It's just been speculation as of right now. Masai (Ujiri, Denver's executive vice president of basketball operations) and Josh (Kroenke, the Nuggets president) are not even here (at Sunday's game). I don't see that happening.''

There has been speculation that Paul, who can become a free agent in 2012, might eventually want to join a team with Anthony. Asked about that, Paul said, "I don't know anything about that.''

Probably about the same thing that the Knicks think when they hear/see these quotes:

Wojnarowski: Melo/Billups to Nets soon

Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski is now reporting that Carmelo Anthony and Chauncey Billups will be joined by Shelden Williams and Anthony Carter in a three-team trade that will land Melo in Newark.

you're not giving nj enough credit. favors, harris, and 2 firsts for melo with one foot out the door, rips awful contract and the right to buyout chauncey is some atrocious value.

the nets are making a bad deal too but when you lose a franchise player no package you receive will come close to making up for it. i just find denver fans funny like they're winning something. they can do nothing but lose.

Hmm.. Interesting Maybe Melo is willing to go to NJ so he can just wait a year to move to brooklyn and possibly play with CP3.

But People if this does go down sure it hurts and it sucks.. But Im pretty sure that Plan B will be just as good.

If Melo signs that extension, I hope and pray that this new CBA thing effects his contract anyway. If he takes the money instead of winning, I have no problem continuing to hate his sucker punching ass...but if he makes the right choice and joins us...of course I'll love him :D
