What?!Logic from James Dolan and the New York Knicks front office? We'd have a better chance of getting Stephon back from China and him putting up 35/15 on 55% shooting and we have "Stephonsanity"

This just confirms a few things...

1. The leadership of the Knicks are idiots

2. Dolan's Ego >>>> Team

3. We thought the era of stupidity was over after Marbury was exiled but it will never be over so long as Dolan remains the owner

4. Expect more controversy with 'Melo, Amare, Kidd, JR, and Felton, etc. this season that will derail any playoff hopes we have... again.

5. Expect more injuries to key players right before the playoffs because that is what always seems to happen to this snake-bitten team

But of all your bad things, number 4 has a major silver lining: We need a high draft pick if we have any hope.

No, I meant, we'll get into the playoffs, but we won't be any kind of real threat because these guys will be at each other's throats or have side agendas (ie no cohesion/chemistry). That also means a mid first round pick again.

The fans were the idiots. They were sore that we traded an exciting but flawed player for a legitimate center and took a gamble that he might be healthy next season. Our current management isn't too shabby. We went from 0 picks, an undersized backcourt, and no real center at season's beginning to 4 picks including a lottery, a real center, and getting depth in a backup for Curry and promising youth through the draft.

Also our owner was the least willing of our FO to let Lin go. The guy who headed decisions then doesn't make decisions anymore.

I just assumed the fans were booing for the inexcuseable breakup of the 07 Warriors team, and trading the last player from the team was the last straw from it. I loved your picks this year, really high on Ezeli and Barnes will at least be a productive rotation player at the absolute worst

Making too much sense. Someone hire this guy.

Nah, most of that 2007 team had been dismantled by the previous owner. I think that some people were just pissed at seeing the Warriors tank for the rest of year, despite it being a pretty good basketball move in the long run. After what I considered a terrible start to the season, I'm somewhat amazed that someone managed to convince Lacob to admit he'd been a fool and do a 180 on the team's direction. Hey, if there's hope for the Warriors, maybe there's hope for anyone. If not, assassinating Dolan is always a good backup plan.

I think there was some residual and generic owner hate even though Lacob had nothing to do with breaking up We Believe, but to fans who aren't prone to nuanced thinking, he represented The Man and every way the Warriors have dissapointed. But I think the real reason for the booing was the emotionality from the Ellis trade (regardless of how much actual basketball sense it made). Oh, and beer.

KG they never wanted him... the only way he was coming back is if on July 1st he came crawling to Dolans office and kissed the ring on his finger... because you know Dolan has accomplished so much in his life and had so much to teach young Jeremy.

The Knicks should do that at the home opener for Dolan, the difference is it'll be completely justified

You don't think they'd have matched at $9M per? I think so. They just let the situation get out of their control with a lack of communication.

It's one thing to just lose a player to an injury, or age, or a contract offer you literally can't meet ... it's a whole other thing to kick the ball away this badly with negligence and malpractice.

They could have at least communicated with Lin and then you can say -- "We told you not to sign a balloon payment deal if you wanted to come back to New York" and let him go with a conscience that is free and clear.

It's a whole other thing to have played your hand so badly, and let this get out of control. It's up to Grunwald and the others to make sure that the communication lines stay open and people are on the same page.

It is absolutely their fault that things became derailed.

And in the end, even if you draw a line in the sand and Lin crosses it, you have the peace of mind knowing that he didn't really want to be a Knick or was trying to call your bluff.

Of course, we know better and the Knicks could fairly easily have unloaded contracts in Year 3 in order to avoid the big luxury tax hit. Hell, they didn't need to extend all these contracts into Year 3 with guys we don't even need (especially if we're not bringing back Lin).

Novak $3M
Kidd $3M
Camby $3M
Felton $3M

All of these guys are useless in three years and nearly equal Lin's cap hit that season. Hell they're useless now because they are aging/mediocre players and our team is not in position to contend for a title.

Why even have these guys on the roster now? So you can PRETEND to CONTEND. Because without Lin, you're pretenders.

Hell that should be our new slogan: PRETEND TO CONTEND in 2012-2013 with your NEW YORK KNICKS.

KnicksGod, it's pointless right now. There's really no reason to argue because it's illogical to see it any other way. All we can do now is sulk and hope we still feel something for the Knicks when they play.

Talking to friends, it feels a lot better when you laugh at them. I still feel nothing for them right now but at least I feel a little better.

KG, no disrespect, but saw you post in another thread that the Isiah tweet was a "reach" that he was talking about Lin

Why do you think this?People have suspected he's still had pull in the Knicks for awhile now, and it's not just us. Hell, even people on twitter are saying he took a shot at Lin. Not saying that's credible, but it's not like only realgm thinks this. It's more than a coincidence imo.

Well maybe. I don't know. I'm just saying it seems like a pointer for PG's. Maybe it is a shot of some kind. Who knows.

If so, he really is influencing Dolan. Unreal.
