tried to be respectful because I understand that its all or at least in part schtick.

I really did want someone to express what they expected to be done and how and it doesn't have to be Clyde.

Many here really do want Fisher gone I believe. The sooner the better they feel and it may be that he doesn't work out here validating their opinion. They may have more foresight and just be ahead of the curve. I dont think that we have enough to go on yet tho.

Rattling the sabers this early isnt fair and unexplained negativity without any well communicated bias. Last I checked, this is a message board where we keep each other posted about our thoughts as fans.

Clyde_Style, you at least gave me a half hearted response and I appreciate that. I do not think your're a hillbilly. I thought your name was clyde. I also dont know where youre from, NY is pretty flat if youre not upstate in the mountains.

I dont expect everyone to take the 10 minutes I did to put togehter a detailed post explicating theor POV and why. I'm a ballboy. I know where the bus is.

Just wanted to stop by and praise the Knicks' fan base and New York. For my birthday, my girlfriend got us tickets to the Knicks-Cavs game this past Friday. I'm a 25 year old Sixers fan who lives in South Jersey, and I'd never been to Madison Square Garden, let alone New York City (crazy, right?). To be honest, my number one priority was to see LeBron because I've never watched him play in person before (he was injured for the Cavs' visit to Philly last season), but I was extremely impressed with MSG, the Knicks fans, and just the overall experience.

The arena was beautiful. Everything from the seating to the floors looked pristine, especially for a venue that has been around a long time. The only NBA arena I'd been to is the Wells Fargo Center, which paled in comparison to the Garden.

Our seats were in section 119 and the view was great. The NY fans around us were polite and had a great knowledge of the team, even an older couple behind us who didn't exactly look like basketball fans. Another young couple next to us, I believe from Australia (judging by their accents) were big Knicks fans and looked to be having a blast. The entire crowd just seemed so passionate about the Knicks, something I haven't felt at a Sixers game in a long time. It was like being a part of a fan base of a true championship contender (no offense), but that speaks volumes to NY fans because they're heavily invested after a dreadful 2014-2015 season and their squad has looked pretty good just a couple weeks into the season.

I didn't really have a horse in the race, but I've been a LBJ fan since he was in high school and as a Philly fan, I'm inclined to root against NY teams no matter what (lol, sorry), but it was a great game to witness for my first visit to MSG and the city. Porzingis, who I wasn't sold on during the draft, looks very promising. Melo showed flashes of his better years, which made for a great duel between him and LeBron. Collectively, I think this Knicks team will make the Playoffs and be a tough out forever whoever faces them.

Best of luck this season and just wanted to send some praise to what your city has going on. I had a great time.

Awesome post. If you noticed, nobody really wanted to answer you. You were too thorough. Keep it up.

That's because everyone who doesn't have your viewpoint is obviously dumb as dirt Bill. We simply lack the brain cells that would equip us with the ability to answer. Pray for us hillbillies. Have mercy on us. We are too stupid to be taken seriously and unworthy of your exalted company. Now back to my regularly scheduled banjo picking session.

Oh, come on, Clyde. You really think I think you're stupid??

Even when it's one of your posts that ignites one of my pro-Knicks rants, if I ever use the word dumb or stupid or troll or sexually undesirable, you can rest assured I'm not talking about you.

We clearly disagree on Fisher. That's okay. You're still my favorite. If I wasn't on my phone, id dedicate a 1980s music video to you right now.

I responded and then deleted my post because I went too far. As a result, I felt a need to pull back and reconsider my own approach. At this point, I'm not going to concern myself with how others choose to represent themselves. You're a passionate fan and I want you to enjoy yourself. I realized I was getting angry and I thought I had gotten away from that so I'm just going to chill. If you did read what I wrote before I deleted, I apologize. I was offended, but on reflection I'd actually rather not care about these things at all and I can only get to that place by detaching a little bit right now. Carry on

I'm glad I didn't see it then lol.

If I offended you enough to say something nasty to me, I apologize. I know I can be a dick sometimes, and I really didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings. Calling people stupid is a little nasty in itself, but you know I mean well, and you know I don't think for one second that you're a stupid person. Clearly, you are not. And that's what I was trying to convey in that last post in a joking matter, and it may have gotten lost in translation if you were still that angry.

All of this talk is completely Knicks-centric, so it's easy to get a little out of character once in a while when talking about the same topic every day.... anonymously on the internet, no less. But I think in actuality, you and I would have no problem getting along in person. I know nothing about you aside from who you are here on this forum, but I mean it when I say you're my favorite. You're a great dude. And it upsets me to think I made you so mad at me.

We can agree to disagree on Fisher for now. I won't stop posting my opinions, but I promise not to call anyone names anymore. "You people are dumb as dirt" was a dick move. I care about what people think of me here. There were much better ways for me to make my point than that. We can definitely agree on that.

Thanks. We're cool. We don't have to dissect anything. I'm feeling non-verbose today so that's all folks!

IllmaticHandler wrote:I just read this on Grant. Like I said earlier. Grant is the key to the offense moving better more than any other player. It always confuses me when people want Gallo to start over Grant. Gallo is not a true lead guard by no means. From my Eye the Knicks Offense is better, and this article confirms the Knicks are better when Grant is on the Floor. Fisher has a low key stud, who needs to be given more minutes, with the starters. Even Melo said it. He wants to run with Grant in the preseason.

Seeing Jerian Grant 3rd among all rookies in Net Rating however is a big surprise, especially considering the lack of buzz surrounding the 23-year old Notre Dame product. After diving into some more advanced stats, the reasons start to become clearer. The Knicks are scoring at their highest rate from paint, in transition, and the free throw line at their highest rate when Grant is in the game, more so than any of the Knicks’ other regular rotation players.2

Defensively, the Knicks are generating turnovers at their highest rate when Grant on the floor, at a rate of 15.7% with him on the floor versus 11.2% when he sits. Grant himself is scoring 45.2% of his points in the paint, and a further 27.4% from the free throw line. Those are the best shots in basketball, and as long as he continues to generate them, Grant has a good chance to replace Jose Calderon as the starting point guard.
