I wouldn't be so quick to assume we'll play worse. I've seen situations like this before. And teams go on runs post trade.

I'd be freaking glad if Phil can get Crawford (respected vet and basically has a 1 year deal after this season, gonna need some scoring), Rivers (play hard, has improved as a shooter, dont love him but def ok) Wes Johnson (unlocks combo-forward lineup with KP at C), and Brice Johnson, plus the Clippers 2021 unprotected 1st (real asset) for Carmelo and Holiday (not sure I'd be willign to pay up this summer and he's an UFA).

full disclosure, I am not trolling or anything, I am both a Mavs and Knicks fan

I don't think they'd be doing this unless Melo said he would waive his NTC for the teams being discussed. This is going to come down to a fight.. his wife probably wants LA and Lebron probably wants Melo.
