Begley always said that Knicks would only trade Courtney for a top return, but if they shopping him maybe thats not the case.
Would be cool to see a Frank/Burke starting backcourt

you have to think at this point the firesale is the goal.

thanks for everything, thibs.

He has already failed.

In the "growth and development" year where we could have boosted young players growth and ended up with a top 3 pick, he sat back and watched Jeff mismanage the youth in an attempt to get to the playoffs yet fall miserably short.

Ugh.... why? I can't believe you of all people can't see how not useful his skillset is. Good riddance. Wish we got something better but still not sad to see Willy go.

I think the issue here isn't getting rid of Willy. It's getting rid of him while his value is at an all-time low. That's just strange asset management.

I think like most experts are saying we would never get a 1st round pick for Willy even if we did bump his value up slightly and if we did it would be a very late 1st rounder which is pretty much the same value as 2 2nds imo... 1st round picks are scarce in today's NBA.... It just is what it is. His skillset just really isn't that desirable if he can't at least play decent defense which he is far from doing. Maybe Clifford can teach him but I have serious doubts that he ever becomes more than a 15-20 mpg player off the bench.

he's scola.

Getting future seconds in 2020 and 2021 is actually what I like most about this deal considering Charlotte's situation.

1. Kemba is a FA after the 2019 season. He's probably traded before then and would certainly bet against them keeping him.
2. Batum's awful contract will still be on the books which limits the moves that they can make.
3. Charlotte has never attracted free agents.
4. Charlotte is staring the lux tax in the face starting this season or next, so they will need to sell off very soon.
5. Charlotte is almost 10 games under .500 with their full complement of players.

This team is gonna be real bad soon and headed for a full rebuild. If you told me that I could get two top 40 picks for archaic Willy?...Where do I sign?

Fuccking dumb, man. Should've traded KOQ and kept Willy. Let him get KOQ's minutes and improve his trade value. He was the only big not making big cash (pending KOQ's re-signing)

Just say... Christain Woods, is 22 yrs old, plays both C and PF, plays defense, block shoots, can shoot the 3 and pass... and is a free agent (won't be for long though)..

Im ready for everyone to get traded... reset time!

Some playoff team has to get Beas. Cheap as they come and gives you scoring punch off the bench in the playoffs.

Just did a Google search. Found out O Bryant owns an anime and manga company. He grew up on toonami as a kid like myself .

That wouldn’t be a problem if the Hornets were in the middle of the Eastern Conference playoff picture, as many expected, but they enter Friday’s game in Los Angeles against the Lakers with a 14-23 record – the 12th-best mark in the East. They’re closer to the worst team in the NBA (the 10-27 Atlanta Hawks) than the East’s eighth and final playoff spot, held by the Indiana Pacers (19-19).

To make matters worse, the financial situation isn’t getting better anytime soon. Next season, the Hornets – as constructed – are guaranteed to be a tax-paying team. They have 10 players with guaranteed contracts making a combined $116.4 million. Add in the cost of their first-round pick — currently the N0. 9 selection, which would be about $3.6 million — and three minimum contracts (worth roughly $4.5 million), and the Hornets would already be more than a million into the tax.

Perhaps Michael Jordan would be fine paying the tax for the first time if he were in the same position that another first-time taxpayer, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis, finds himself: with a team that seems positioned to battle for a top-four seed in the East for the next few years, one that features an all-star backcourt of John Wall and Bradley Beal that’s already signed through the majority of their primes.

But that’s not where the Hornets are. Charlotte likely will enter next season with an aging, expensive roster, with a combined $62 million going to three players – Howard, Nicolas Batum and Marvin Williams – who signed contracts during the halcyon days of July 2016. If those three were free agents this summer, they might struggle to land much more than half of that amount.
